Why did they ban neck? I guess I haven't been paying much attention. Last game I went to people just said, "talkin out the side if your neck". That was only two seasons ago.

Incorrect. I went to LSU in the 90's and it wasn't widespread.

Seriously, they cheered "suck that tiger dick"? The student section has really dropped pretty far since I graduated, and not just progressively like any former student section would claim. I saw it while I was still at LSU. It's quite sad.

I went to the USCe game in Columbia in 2003. They have a chant like "Geaux - Tigers" (opposite sides of the stadium). They say "Game - cocks". The LSU section wedged "Suckers" at the end. It was LOUD ... and that's the road crowd, not the students.

As I said in the other thread. It was chanted occasionally, and it was pretty much always directed to the refs after a particularly bad call.
It doesn't really make a lick of sense to just shout it indiscriminately every time the song is played. But, I guess nor does banning storied traditions or yelling "suck that tiger dick!" at any time.

Tiger Rag was banned either my 1st ('88) or 2nd year at LSU. They may have brought it back after a certain number of years and that may not have been the first time it was banned.
"Assholes" came out loud and clear.
