No team has ever been awarded for peaking in mid April.
Anderson will be better from this, lots of background noise facing a former teammate and having to deal with an inconsistent ump which won’t be a factor in 90% of the games you play.
They got punched in the mouth and will learn more than they would on a 9 game win streak.
Series still there for the taking!
Geaux Tigers!

Big Dick Dutton went in dry. Shake back tomorrow.

So true
Human condition says you gotta get humbled down after riding a high. Later you come back stronger than ever. Yes, the Dutton thing is embarrassing but won’t matter 1 iota come June.

It stings a little more losing the first game of a series. You would rather get off to a good start.

LSU seems to enjoy getting humbled vs ranked SEC teams so far

That’s true. We are in the midst of a very tough stretch of ranked teams, and I expect several more LSU losses. I figure we’ll probably finish 18 & 12. Then we’ll most likely win some games in the sec tournament and most likely host a regional. We probably will have a shot at a top 8 national seed and a super regional host.

You’ve got some guys that aren’t hitting. Frey, Pearson, and Milam are all sub .250 in SEC play. Bear is at a respectable 0.288 but only slugging 0.373, second lowest among regular starters.

Well, it kinda depends, doesn't it? If they win this series and improve going forward, then yeah, maybe this team actually benefits from a bit of humble pie
But we can't ignore that, save for Oklahoma, the Tigers have mostly feasted on bad teams. We still aren't completely sure how good they are, especially on the mound. The next few weeks will be a test, and it's strictly on a pass/fail grading system. We'll see if they meet the measure of their ranking.

Where do you find those stats at?
