Students need a midnight yell session for basketball only. Someone volunteer to go outside of Freds on friday and recruit students to attend games

I don’t think students are allowed to be behind the benches

I sent an email to Radokovich back in the day on this very topic. somewhere around the Ronnie Henderson era the students were moved further away from the court. press row was added on the sideline between the students and the court. I recall Fedex envelopex being thrown at Chris Mills and ping pong balls maybe being thrown at Dwayne schintzius back when they were lively.

We even get extra press people now next to the student section which is mind numbing.
I understand the $ proposition, but no reason the press people can't be at THE TOP of THE MIDDLE SECTIONS right below the concourse level. Hell, put them at the bottom of the UPPER. The students should be across from the visitor bench where they used to be. a few bucks in seats could be made up in donations.

Certainly, the students have to do their part and show up, which doesn't seem to happen very often to warrant anyone caring about changing the configurations.

Add to it the gray hairs in the audience who are to stiff in the arse to cheer or clap their hands or yell "defense".

Overall, get the students back closer to the action. Give a reason for about a thousand of them to pack the stands and be vocal. somehow get the grey hairs off their arse.

They’d be empty 80% of time. He knows the students suck .

If the students actually showed up more often and actually become a 6th man then maybe they’ll consider it. In the meantime, stay behind the goal.
The lady sitting behind me Saturday asked me “wheres the student section?”
There’s your answer right there.

Back in the 80's we would pack the place and it would get LOUD. I remember we would bebehind the bench and we would all bring Reveilles and then crumble them up when the Tiger line up was announced.

The things we would say to Schintzuis....it would get to him.

Wish we could get a big time match up in NOLA like we used to. Georgetown in the Dome. Oklahoma at the Lakefront arena, etc....Dale appreciated the New Orleans fan base

Of course the players would stay 3 years on average

This. It’s not the placement of the students, it’s the students. Plenty of schools have their students behind the basket. It’s just a matter of how the students impact the game or try to impact the game.

move that stupid press row that's next to them. simply redonkulous.
but yes... sad to say the few hundred (sometimes dozen) students that do manage to show up seem to be the revenge of the nerds crowd for the most part.

how does a metro area of what, 1/2 a mill?? not get 8-10 K in the stands. add to that a thousand students and you might have something!

Can't agree with you more. Our student section is pitiful, moving them to better seats won't magically solve that problem.

Somebody needs to do something. The atmosphere in the PMAC is not keeping pace with other basketball arenas in the SEC.

Correct

I don't think this is right. If memory serves correctly we were on the opposite side of the court.

I pay thousands for my seats behind the Tiger bench. You think I will pay the same for seats behind the goal? It is a money game. Money talks and the students will stay behind the goal.

It’s chicken and the egg. The atmosphere went downhill immediately the very year the seats were moved. Now, This also coincided with Dale’s disastrous last handful of years that turned off the gray hairs.

Sitting on your hands, albeit in row 2, does not make for a quality experience in the PMAC.

And for the love of all that is holy whatever student thinks it’s OK to lift your hands in the air and wave spirit fingers while our own team is shooting free throws is about as smart as a sack of hammers. Absolutely the worst cheer I’ve ever seen. Distracting your own team? Just Bizzaro. Basketball IQ on zero. No wonder local / state basketball has sucked for a few years.
