I only have time to visit tigerdroppings about 5- 10 minutes a day, and miss out on some days. I like to read posts to see the latest gossip and opinions. I’m a lifelong fan, have 2 degrees from LSU, and I’m a season ticket holder for 3 sports. I just saw someone do their 1st post and get hammered, imagine that. He didn’t say anything negative, but on this Board, when you give your opinion, and even though most agree with you, you get more down votes than up because you were late to the party. Apparently, it's usually by the same guys and there are several that can't wait to post something to put someone down. It's like a race, who can I nail to the cross next and beat the other guys to it. The negativity spreads faster than cancer. I’m not talking about the guys who vent about play calling or even a coach by giving their educated opinion. However, the guys filled with hatred and the guys that go after a poster, or a post that says something positive that LSU did, they may down vote because they don’t like the coach.
The same people see a title, and although they may not like the subject, or they are tired of it, they have nothing better to do all day but read every post on this Board and respond with nothing good to add. The hell with relevant content on the posted subject, let's post some good ole fashioned negativity. I know I could get my daily updates read a lot faster if people would not post things that were not relevant to the subject.
How many people out there would love to know what the negative posters do for a living, and how many of them think they could do better at their job (assuming they have one), but it's someone else's fault they are not more successful? Negativity is cannibalistic. The more you feed it, the bigger and stronger it grows.

I know what he is saying. there are guys who track every poster, and if they don't like them, and they don't like the subject, they have to log on just to be smart-arse or make negative comments. Why is it so hard to not post?

I hate it when someone posts on a decent subject with a legitimate question and you have to wade thru a sea of negative posts to get to the few that actually want to discuss the subject.

I agree with the OP that there is no problem at all with guys venting and expressing their frustrations. this is the rant!

and yes, i'll admit I've done my share of B.S. posting. but being aware of what I was doing, I make a great effort to cut it out.

I’ve come to the realization that some people are just assholes, and act big and bad over a message board.

You mean the ones that are honest? See, the issie is your perception of "negative". Just cauae their statements conflict with your perceptions, does make them negative

Cant be light without dark
Cant be positives, without negatives
....and so on

Welcome to TigerDroppings

Gotta grow thick skin if you want to post here and survive. It's just how it is. People have no real way to vent their frustrations or share their joys with such a large group of diverse fans other than places like tRant. We've some solid posters, some fruit loops and some trolls. It's pretty much just like our acquaintances in real life.

My first post was a conspiracy theory thread about Orgeron being played by Joey Freshwater and I got downvoted into oblivion but I already knew it was coming because I'd lurked here for 5 years before ever signing up.

Just enjoy the ride, man. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's miserable, sometimes it makes you want to self immolate. But it's tRant and overall it's the best forum I've found for LSU fans from all around the world to socialize, agree, disagree, and bust each other's balls

I would love to know how many of them have time to post on here because they are well organized and highly productive people that can work a job and post on here.

Management at many companies has plenty of time to do things like check tiger droppings. They get paid to make sure employees are working all day safely and up to standard. If they are doing this well, and holding people who don't do their jobs accountable - then they have good performing teams that they trust and dont need to watch over their shoulders all day long.

Business owners and entrepreneurs would also have a good bit of time.

Yea. People who demand accountability and point out objective data to be critical equate to people who work dead end jobs and blame other people

Some of you don't know the difference between negativity and realism.

Recruiting board for the most part is much better than the rant. As far as good conversation, not getting dicked on, etc.

I agree. It’s quite hilarious to see how the assholes have thoroughly convinced themselves they’re just “realists.”

Well said, Woody. They dominate the comments section, but they don't represent the readership of TD.

For example:
There is a recent post titled, "Coach O is Crushing it". The negative comments exploded. Yet the Upvote/Downvote count is -
Up 497; Down 107

Imagine that

I don't deny that I've been negative at times, but that doesn't make everything I say negative.

Folks are lazy on here though and can't actually take every comment and judge it on its own. For instance, if I say a few "negative" things then to *some* folks everything is assumed to be negative.

Downvoters are children, they go after the poster. I know who they are.

Positivity will not be tolerated...

Any poster who post and constantly checks back to see how many up/down votes they have is extremely insecure.

If that's how you measure anything on this board, you are the ridiculous one.
