And they play in the ACC, lost to us, Boston College and got beat by Kansas in the Orange Bowl. Florida would have easily handled VTech that year. And yeah I know Florida lost to Michigan in the Cap1 Bowl.
florida was tebow and smoke & mirrors in '07 ... they had NO running game .. rainey and demps came along the next season ..

not to mention, OU had the heisman trophy winner at QB and was a machine, steam rolling the shite out of people until the big 12 title game .. the OU team we beat in '03 would have smoked the '07 ohio state team we beat ..
OU was zero and the first time they played a team with half a defense it was exposed.
Yea, they steamrolled a schedule of punks. UT was nowhere then. OU had the Big 12 to themselves until Kstate punked them. All it took was DEFENSE and Kstate was the best OU faced all season to that point.
You can try to polish that turd all you want to. OU 03=OSU 07. Both times LSU had to have near miracles on the last day of the season to get into the game. Now go to alabubba and ask nickthemidget if you can give him a smoker.

Bottom Line Miles Sucks!

I will not ever say that he is a genius ... or great ... or elite.
He IS a good coach though. I know that's not popular on the board right now, but I'm standing behind that.
I agree, but for $3.8 million a year good does not cut it. We can get better coaching at a cheaper price

Understand the criticism of Miles. It is well justified,

but a lot of you are tainting his NC and trying to make it less than what it was.

How f'ing stupid of a fan of LSU are you to try and lessen a National Championship. Pathetic.

I think when fans "lessen" the 2007 NC, they mean to say that there were a bunch coaches who wouldve won a NC at some point between 2005-2007. Miles was simply in a great situation and didnt quite screw it up, although came very close.

how was our 2003 national championship tainted exactly ?

Either both are clear National Championships or both are tainted. Pick your poison and be consistent.

There's a difference in tainting the NC and blaming him for those two losses.

quote:The problem is people like you want to compare Miles to what Saban is doing at Bama now. Guess what, Saban never did those things at LSU. He had exactly 1 good season where he lost less than 3 games. Everyone acts like Miles took over a program that was on some kind of undefeated roll like Saban has going at Bama. That is total bullshite. Miles took over a 9-3 team that was two years removed from going 8-5.
it's not that some are "ga-ga" over saban in as much as it is hard to refute and ignore what he did for this program ...
You want to talk about luck... how about 2001 and us getting to ATL with a 5-3 record. That NEVER happenes!!! More luck? How about beating Tennessee in the championship game that same year. If Davey doesn't get hurt, we lose that game and it's not even close. We did not win becasue of some great gameplan or coaching. It was because they were not ready to stop a running QB when Davey got injured. Some of you need to get a little perspective and quit acting like LSU was some Top 5 team every year under Saban.
For those that need reminding....
LSU record 2000-2004
2000 8-4 Final Ranking: 22
2001 10-3 Final Ranking: 7
2002 8-5 Final Ranking: NOT RANKED
2003 13-1 Final Ranking: 1
2004 9-3 Final Ranking: 16
