I was at a gas station today filling up my Jeep and the guy on the other side had a hat that said "Appalachian" on it. I asked if he is an App State fan. He said his son plays football there, so I told him I'm a LSU alum and that I'm looking forward to the game in Baton Rouge. He just rolled his eyes, looked down and shook his head, so I asked him if he wasn't looking forward to the game and he just shook his head again. I told him right before I left that I hope his son has a good time while he's in BR.

If I were them, hell yes. Even if they lose, they get $$$, national exposure and the chance to even shock the world...again. Basically, it's a win-win for them.

It's our chance to be on the big stage with the big boys. Hopefully, we can make it through without serious injury to key players. We gotta save something for Jacksonville U. (not to be confused with Jacksonville State).

I love that we are playing LSU...but I don't love the chance that our players have of being injured...

Might be what this dad is thinking about...

Unless they come here amid all of the ESPN nat'l champion against nat'l champion hype, and we blow them out and embarass them on national TV.

I don't think that will happen, I think it's close til somewhere in the 3rd. I don't think Appy St. is about the money. They are proud of their football...recently at least, but still it would suck to get drummed after all the "we can do it again" pep talks they're going to give themselves.

They have some big time programs that don't want to mess with LSU, App State has a good set of Lesticles
to come to TS. Geaux Tigers, Go App. State. Gonna be interesting.

Unless serious injuries occur, this is a no brainer for ASU. LSU is not going to be wide open on offense until conference play. ASU could lose by thirty, it's still a great financial and public relations move for them.

Just to throw this out there....App is undefeated on ESPN...not trying to say we will win...just a fact...

Kid that lives directly across the street from me (well, I guess his family does now), is one of their back up QBs now.

When I lived in L.A. I knew the family of the guy who played left tackle for Arizona when we beat them a few years ago. He said that he had never faced a team with the intensity and speed of LSU or ever played in a place like Tiger Stadium. Appy State players should be scared.

Most parents of players dont like talking to the general public about the team, let alone a fan from another school we are about to play.

I can tell you that THE APP FOOTBALL TEAM is jumping out of their shoes to prove themselves.

THIS is the REAL game, Nothing like UM last year.
ITS Champion vs. Champion on ESPN.
Against the biggest of the biggest.

I hear our Whole team is working harder this year than last summer.

I hope we give the Tiger fans a great game to watch.

I respect App State for scheduling LSU. But this ain't Michigan you're playing.

I can't imagine that we will be any more beat up than we were after the Michigan game. People overlook the fact that Armanti played with a hurt shoulder in the 2nd half and that our linemen were physically spent for two weeks after.

I can't imagine that any App fan doesn't want to see us play LSU. We've been there didn't get embarrassed and believe we can compete. Make no mistake about this, this is a money game for App and a public relations/recruiting bonanza. The only people in the country that will be pulling for LSU are Tiger fans. Unfortunately it will take more that 1 rock for this David to kill Goliath. Our goal is a conference championship and another FCS title.
