She was ranked higher than Dawson at #27 by FloSoftball and #24 by another recruiting site. She can play catcher or anywhere on the infield.

You put too much stock into what you find online. Satchell has never really caught before in her life if I'm correct and she was able beat out a kid that was nationally ranked as the 3rd best catcher in the nation? Ok...
A lot of these kids can play "anywhere" on the infield or outfield at most schools. LSU isn't most schools. So she might be a SS at McNeese, but she isn't playing at LSU.

I am pretty sure she had an injury earlier. She practically split reps with Jaquish in practice in the fall and spring practice. Satchell wasn't really in the conversation at all.
