After this weekend, definitely need to work on hitting, pitching I am not worried about. Still early in the season so hopefully we can get the bats going.

Defense? Throwing the ball in? Coaching? What else?
Geez. They had a rough couple of games, but that doesn’t mean they are bad at those 2 aspects of the game.

They will improve. I’m not at all concerned about the pitching. At all.

ONly 4 total hits and struck out 22 times vs UCLA and Oregon. Definitely got a lot of work to do.

This truly is a staggering statistic. Anyone that hasn't been concerned about our hitting (and recruiting players that could hit) is fooling themselves.

The teams LSU has played so far in the home tournaments hasn't really provided the quality type of pitching we will see in conference play. That's why we go to Palm Springs in order to play and get experience against those really good pitchers. I feel that we will be fine pretty soon.

No one in the SEC we play outside of Barnhill will be near as good as the two pitchers we faced back to back days. We needed this, so now we know we need to make certain changes to be better down the road.

I think this was just overwhelming for the team, as this is the first time we played a top team without Landry and Jaquish, who brought a lot of confidence and calmness in games like these. Many of these players have never felt the pressure and weight on their shoulders to make these plays.

Obviously a lot of work needs to be done on the offensive side of the ball. Next weekend is perfect opportunity to pick that confidence back up and work with these new adjustments.

Doyle is playing at an all american level right now. She has been phenomenal.

Great perspective here. It’s early. We can do this.

I’ve been saying that. We miss Jaquish there more than hitting at this point. CC is young but she’s definitely the true catcher. Neither Schlatmann or Springfield have the arm. I haven’t see Sydney Loupe’s arm yet, but people will steal on us all day if nothing is done. I’m honestly somewhat disappointed at Springfield and Schlatmann’s arms.

LSU adds Georgia Clark next year who is one of the best power hitters in the country, not sure how her arm is though but she can play catcher and 1B

18handicap can probably tell you more about her than me. he's seen her play many times

losing Cunningham hurt for sure, she was suppose to be the catcher this season

I’m hoping she will contribute early.

I haven't seen her play this year yet.. with all of the rain making the early season so chaotic, it's been difficult to get in all of our games. Since I run the coaches website, Texas Prep Softball , I'll be getting standings and results posted all day tomorrow and I'll get back with y'all to tell how she's doing this spring.

ETA: her team is 3-3 and according to their boxscores on Gamechanger, Right now she is 2 for 9 with 5 runs scored, 2 Home Runs, 2 RBIs. I'm sure once they start getting more games in, her stats will warm up quite a bit.

I dont know why, if she was going to be the catcher this year, she saw so little play time last year.

Think it might've been off the field issues. That she's not playing anywhere else could back that up.

There were some off the field issues and thats why it never happened. She was slated to play a lot and essentially almost split reps with Jaquish but vanished pretty quickly for a reason. She was already in a tight spot, something obviously happened late this summer for her to be removed from the roster the week before school started. Anyways I wish her the best of luck, she really was a very talented player and a highly recruited prospect. She had a nice arm and her bat was very good.

I see. Sometimes the coaches will remove a player. Cant have distractions though i am not sure whAt happened with Cunningham. Gasso had problems with Dalton who is now at ULL. Such a good player but things happen.

I'm curious what changes we will make moving forward with the offense. Before the season beth said they won't be afraid to make drastic adjustments if need be.

What that means, I do not know

One of the few time I saw her play, one of her homeruns made everyone gasp. I think my favorite aspect about her is how smart she is, she understands and reads the game extremely well. Excited to see her be in purple and gold next year.

Good thing LSU doesn't play Alabama this year because Osario would absolutely own these hitters!
