They did it because our administration does not support basketball. Never has and never will. Woodward is a bum.

Ever thought that one of the main reasons for them going is exactly this?
It was made very clear to them that they didn’t matter at all.
What they’d worked for all season was completely disvalued by admin.
Why would they stay in those circumstances, when the coach they loved was gone? They’d feel no one had their backs, that they were nothing.
Asking kids to be “loyal” to LSU after that? Ridiculous.

This may be true for some but the fact remains. Football carries the water for every program on campus and then some. Basketball just supports itself doesn't really add much after that.
