Haha, I am not lying. You could say I was friends with many athletes and coaches.

Part of that also has to do with the fragile relationships that Saban has with his assistant coaches and an inability to have consistency on his coaching staff because of that.

This was the part that I was going to focus on. Two things make or break a coach in the NCAA: recruiting and a good coaching staff. Both recruit well.Saban chews up assistants. Miles is a better guy to work for.

Both are great college coaches, neither are perfect. Between the two, I prefer Miles.

Can someone post the List of those accomplishments that Les Miles achieved that Nick Saban couldn't while he was at LSU. Just the 39-7 record with a AP and BCS National Title should be a enough but I guess its not.

Saban all the way. He has his crappy arse Alabama players working like a fine tuned machine and they're classier.

But I nominate DiNardo as the worst coach of all time!

Part of the Saban-Miles comparison thing is complicated by the fact that they had two completely different back-drops. Not an apples-to-apples comparison.

For the record, Nick was 0-3 at Jordan-Hare (not counting last year’s loss with Bama there). Miles is 1-1 there. On the other hand, Nick was 2-1 at the Dump (BHG) while Les is 0-2 there. I’m also willing to concede that had Mauck not left early we could have repeated in ’04. Also, had Nick not announced his departure, I think we would have defeated Iowa in the Cap One bowl. On the other hand, maybe if Nick wasn’t such a pain to play for, some of the players would have stayed. Still not sure how you can excuse the last minute breakdowns against Ark in ’02 and Iowa.

Miles is a great coach but Saban is an elite coach. Both guys can win at LSU. I prefer Miles, he shows more loyality and personailty.

This is true, I do like Miles's apparent loyalty.

I always liked Saban, and still do. I wish he would have never been enticed to go to the NFL.

Did I read someone saying les miles is the best in the nation at halftime adjustments???

Did you watch the game in the swamp?? Nationally televised prime time game. Two top ten teams, win would vault lsu to a number 1 ranking.....and his team looked worse in the second half then in the first. He made ZERO adjustments during that game.
