We lost a lot of defense this past yr. As we can tell, there was a bunch of talent on the defense this past yr leaving for the NFL. Does LSU have enough talent coming in to produce a NC in the next several years. If not, is there any reason to bitch about not winning the SEC?

I seriously do. Young, new players are eager to show what they can do and Chavis will coach em up

Yes we will. I still think we can win one next year since we aren't expecting it I think we will play better

I think that I agree with you, Paul. Although, I think if Les would suck up some ego & hire a top notch OC, we might have a chance.

A chance? Sure. Maybe a 10% chance over the next 2-3 years.

I do. We have most of the offense back. The OL will be good. If Mett has good games like he did against Bama.
I hope Chief gets our D to perform to the level. I think we will have X factor in kick return in Tre White, Brazil, Diarse

LSU should win another in the next 4-5 years. May not seem like it, but we have one of the most talented rosters that there are. The past couple years we have gotten tough times, but we are due for the chips to fall in our corner at some point in the near future.

We're done as long as Les is here. We'll put talent on the field just as we have the last several years, but we'll get beat from the sidelines. I don't see us pulling out more than 8 games this year.

I do.

Look at the class we signed last year and all the pt they got. Look at the 2013 class coming in, which depending on how we finish out may be the best class we ever got, and the 2014 has the potential to be significantly better than 2013 is. LSU is set up really niccely to follow their 4 year cycle of playing for a NC. I am guessing 2015 when this coming class is is juniors and the 2014 class are sophs. That year is going to be very strong.

2013 could be a strong year for us. I don't think we lose as much on teh defense as people are thinking. The ones coming in to fill those spots are exceptional. Most of the offense is coming back as well. As long as we get good OL play from the start to the finish of the season, we will be in the hunt for the SEC and the NC even without the talent that has headed to the NFL.

Why do you think LSU has "gotten tough times"?

The chips fell last year in a 13-0 run and the NC was pissed away by the coach. This year, the coach pissed away the Bama and Clemson games.

Things won't fall into place unless Less makes some changes, which his arrogant arse won't do. (See 1/9)

Of course we have a chance. As "terrible" as this year was, LSU was ONE play away from playing in a national semifinal against Georgia

LSU will win it all in 2016. Until then, 8-10 win seasons and 3rd to 5th in the SEC West.

I agree. No doubt next year will be a tough year because we will be green, plus our SEC schedule is brutal . 2014, we will be breaking in a new QB with relatively no experience (depending on how much playing time Rivers or the 2 Freshman get), so it will also be a tough year also. 2015, should be our year with the crazy recruiting classes we got this year and should have next year.

All these people saying we'll be better in 2013 and 2014 said the same thing about 2012.

Not in the next few years.

2013's excuse - Too many new players, as well as the difficulty of the schedule.

2014's excuse - Breaking in a new QB (despite the fact teams like Alabama and ND don't seem to have that issue...).
