Who went conservative in the 2nd half

Conservative in the 2nd half? We scored 14 of our 17 points in the second half of the Bama game you dumb frick. And we could actually move the ball in the second half because we were throwing a lot more than we did in the first.

I love the complaining about going conservative against Bama but then complaining about NOT going conservative against Clemson.

Bama game - "WHY DIDN'T THEY PASS THE BALL FOR THE FIRST AND RUN OUT THE CLOCK?!!"

Clemson game - "WHY DIDN'T THEY RUN THE BALL FOR THE FIRST AND RUN OUT THE CLOCK?!!"

It doesn't matter what LSU does....they will continue to bitch and look clueless doing it. Nevermind that the playcall against Clemson was perfect...Mett overthrew a wide open receiver.

We will always be in the mix, but the unfortunate truth is that unless Les is in his basement right now pulling out is hair watching film , we will be second to Saban always. And you better believe Bama will get first stab at all worthy recruits in the country... Hopeful but dismal.

Miles demonstrated all year he wanted to pass more, and quite a few times went into an Oregon style hurry up. I think he is going to have to make the proper staff hires and iron the O deficiencies...if not it will be tough getting by UA. The toughest thing about the Clemson game wasn't so much the final, it was watching the O still not jelled, and watching a perceived talent gap that in reality did not exist. Coach Miles is going to have to find another gear.

Alabama, ole miss and arkansas are all toss ups every year. Florida and AtM i think we win, i say toughest will be at Georgia with Murray and Gershall. I see a 11-1/10-2 competing for the west against Alabama and AtM, same as 2012.

Moron, remember when LSU held Bama to five 3 and outs in a row? This was AFTER the Tigers scored those 14 points. How many points did LSU score when they held Bama to those five 3 and outs toolbag?

I love ball washers who think it's a black and white thing and don't take into account what's working and what's not working and the different defense being played. But you're right gimp boy, everything was great for LSU this past season. Pump that sunshine!

I don't think we win another one with an overly dominate team while Miles is here.
Sure we can have winning seasons and that's cool.

But to the OP, we will be in the mix early. But not late.

I swear it seems like Murray has been UGA's QB for 6 seasons already.

I think LSU has lot a lot of ground in the national media credibility department. Our embarrassing loss on 1/9/12, our season-long offensive and scoring ineptness, and our three losses in 2012 (the flat Florida game, the Alabama give-away game, and most recently the embarrassing bowl loss to Clemson), have all contributed to this erosion of image. Plus we have a coach who could potentially become known as the Joe Biden of college football for his game-time coaching gaffes.

So to weigh in on the original question, I really don't feel LSU has a shot at a NC for the next several years. Not unless Les Miles gets the offensive house in order and gets serious about really turning things around.

All depends on the 2 guys we have coming in at QB. If one of them is exceptional and both look like players then we have a shot.

We also are in dire need of a #1 WR. The defense will reload--we recruit too well on that side of the ball and the coaches are excellent.

Does LSU have enough talent coming in to produce a NC in the next several years.

Anyone answering no to this is an idiot. We have a top ten recruiting class every year. There is a possiblity that 2013 finishes in the top 5. Of course there is enough talent coming in. Things have to fall your way to win a national championship. No more bar fights a couple weeks before the season and no more Heisman candiates getting kicked off the team and of course we will have a chance.

What the frick did I just read?

We didn't score our 14th second half point until the fourth quarter. We had held Bama to three consecutive three and outs at the point. After the TD we held them to two more three and outs. Your post makes absolutely no sense.

Les is the only coach in the history of LSU to get us to two national championship games, but I guess we are toast as long as he remains coach.

Really sucks that LSU is the only team that has turnover of players every year -- why do they let those other teams recruit new players every year?
Of course eveyone loses players every year. You miss the fact that of the 73(record) underclassmen declaring, 11 of them (15%) were from LSU...which is also a record. It's a little something to keep an eye on.

Not me, thought 2012 would be our year with the Defense coming back and a QB that could throw but we were the 6th ranked team in the SEC.

2013 schedule is brutal, could lose 5 games
