Is there any info floating around about how our OC position will be configured? I know 'Slinger is in but not sure at what capacity. There was a lot of buzz about Munoz but I've seen nothing on this side of ball since Aranda announcement was made.

Anything new?

You mean the passing game coordinator position. Last I heard it was the Munoz (sp) guy getting the gig. The question should be who are we getting for DC.

I’ve heard no consensus at this point.

A few weeks ago Joe Brady was the greatest thing since sliced bread ...we had to keep him ...but now that he’s gone it’s no big deal lol

You guys are all very witty and I applaud you for you jocularity however Ensminger did say he would do whatever was best for LSU..including stepping out of the way. Are you guys really telling me that him going back to a position coach and O bringing in another OC is not a possibility? I don't usually respond to all the 14 yr. old back and forth on here so, lest I spur you to more teenage hijinks, I'll ask this way. Has there been any word on candidates(other than current staff guys) that are being discussed for joining the offensive staff?

Pretty sure everyone WANTED to keep him but to think he is the ONLY person that can give LSU a shot at a national championship is just stupid. There are plenty of other people who can fill the roll of Brady. Perhaps not as effectively, perhaps even more so, but he isn’t the ONLY one.

A 14 year old wouldn't have asked such a dumb question.

Why would he go back to being a position coach? The entire reason he was the OC was so that O had a trusted friend in that room with veto power.

You're right. My apologies and I hope your sensibilities will heal over time.

So you expect LSU to remove the OC who put in the new offense, Hired Joe Brady to help him learn more insight and work with the passing game, called all the plays, and won a national championship to be asked to aside so we can hire Big Name OC.... because.... why?

Truly, the stupidity of some tiger fans baffles me.

O has always been a huge believer in Slinger. I doubt that changes unless Slinger is very insistent. I'm not sure Slinger can say no to O.

Because the man obviously has ZERO ego and has said on multiple occasions that he would do whatever O needed him to do. I respect the heck out of how he handled the Brady situation. He was an afterthought for nearly everyone as Brady received all the accolades and he never once flinched. If O thought he could get a home run OC, there is not one doubt in my mind that Steve Ensminger would encourage him to so it. He's a rare commodity these days...Every fiber of his being is apparently of a "Team first" mentality. He badly wants LSU and Coach O to continue this train that they have rolling!

Yes, I know he did... his job is the offensive coordinator. An offensive coordinators job is to install the offense for the team. He is responsible for what plays the team will have available and teaching those players how to run those plays, he then calls the plays on game day.

From last year to this year the goal was to install a spread passing attack. He studied this style of offense and worked with the head coach to hire a coaching assistant with experience in this system. They hired joe Brady as a coaching assistant. A coaching assistants job is to help the offensive coordinator with his duties - listed above.

Just ignore it, and I haven’t seen much of anything other than Munoz stepping into a role like Brady’s, which I think would be great. He was Brady’s right hand man and coached up Joe, so I think he’s the perfect fit to be Co-OC with slinger.
