You do realize that LSU hasn't won a bowl game since 2010,
Was Jeremy Hill playing for a different team when he ran all over Iowa after the 2013 season?

Passing Rankings (out of 128):
Passing Yards/Game: 123 (LSU)
Total Attempts: 124-T (LSU)
Yards/Completion: 74 (LSU)
Yards/Attempt: 108 (LSU)
QB Rating (ESPN): 108 (LSU)
NCAA Efficiency: 105 (Brandon Harris)
So after looking at the stats, our passing game is clearly horrible. For people who want to ignorantly claim that our passing is bad in total simply because we don't pass the ball many times, I suggest that you look at the rates/efficiency stats. 108th in YPA is possibly our most telling stat, but 74th in YPC is very telling as well. Why? Well guess who ranks 1-2-3 in yards/completion?
Army, Air Force, and Navy. (Remember them from earlier?)
So we are combining the passing game of a talent-less option team WITH the inability to use passing opportunities when presented (like an option team). This is a recipe for disaster.
Bump for ranking updates:
Passing yards/game: 115th (156.9/game)
Passsing attempts: 123rd (129 attempts)
Yards/completion: 10th (14.64 yards/completion)
Yards/attempt: 20th (8.5 yards/attempt)
QB Rating (ESPN): 19th (152.7)
NCAA Efficiency: 19th (153.9) - Brandon Harris
Many of us argued in this thread that these type of efficiency numbers were certainly possible and attainable as Harris improved, and here we are, in the top 20 in the nation in efficiency numbers. Our passing yards/game number is improved, but it is never going to be in the top 50 considering our rushing attack. Everyone wanted efficiency, and now we've got it.

The Hatter had a plan, and it seems to be working. Bama will see shite no one has to this point.

Nice bump.
The Negas certainly have gone quiet on the passing game development.

Completely agree. I'm completely confident in LSU's ability to move the ball on any team in any manner necessary.
Feels great to say that with a straight face.

sfp will be back to harp on that old, ineffective I-formation and that we need a modern offense like A&M and Auburn run...

Definitely
He also hedged his bets throughout the thread saying that even though he was calling out the passing game his primary concern is the defense.
Also hit on special teams for the
I-told-you-so trifecta should any of those cost us a game.
He likely predicted 4-5 losses before the season.

quote:SFP, this is a VERY young team. They are being coached. IMO, that's what you are seeing.
Oh we didn't take them serious. When do we stop looking ahead?
E.g., you mentioned Syracuse. LF had 244yds.
Passing was sporadic though.
Why?
Because the O-line was still gelling.
Has pass protection improved?
E.g., you mentioned EMU.
Passing was sporadic.
Why?
We had a ton of dropped balls.
Has that improved?
This team is probably a year away from its best. We're getting better every week nonetheless. We'll see in two weeks whether "getting better" is good enough.

This. He'll also be back to perform fellatio on his buddy Lane Kiffin.

I'd like to think he'd at least give us a W against A&M as badly as they're playing.
But even if he gave us that one or Arky he'd need to include a disclaimer about how it took a missed FG by MSU and a gimmick play v. UF so really we're a 2 loss team.
SFP, tEgg, tiger_in_Atl - all silent until the 1st loss then it's gonna be on hardcore.

Checking in to say that I was a negatiger on this aspect but am very ecouraged at the progress of the passing offense. Never had any doubts on Harris, just thought the WRs needed to execute and that we needed to open up the intermediate passing game. Both have improved dramatically.

Not sure whether it will work or not, But Miles WILL play two qb's this year.........

That's Miles-code-speak for easing Jennings into the #1 spot. Trust me on this. If he starts Harris, it would be an admission he was wrong for the entire 2014 season (except one game) - so he must continue that reasoning in order to save face. Miles is a creature of habit.

Jennings in primetime, and Harris in garbage time. Just like last year, minus Auburn.

SFP is over on the Poly Board bashing the institution of marriage and comparing it to ineffective I-formation offenses.

It's astonishing how some on here hang on to the belief that Miles plays favorites instead of the player that gives the team the best chance to win. If Miles does indeed read this board he must really laugh his arse off at the stupidity.
