He could easily stay at QB and make a real impact there without being the teams pocket passer though.

i've never said otherwise

logistically and logically, it (him playing a "real" QB role) just seems like a long shot. it would require injuries and garrett sucking

Nothing wrong with having a Pat White playing

i just hope we run an offense that a pat white-type would be good at running. we've yet to really show it

the dual QB took us all the way to the ship once already... i have no objection to a second one!

..and Florida 3 years ago with Leak and Tebow.

2 of the last 3 Crystal Balls were the result of a pocket passer attack combined with a mobile dual threat. That sh*t works!

i still don't think shep is ever going to be a "real" QB for LSU

This from the guy that had to see Miles win a national title before being satisfied that Miles could coach...

I wonder what RS will have to do before he admits that RS is, in fact, an LSU QB.

It would be nice to see a wide open offense to utilize the overwhelming team speed and great athletes.

One of my friends is a recruit who watched the scrimmage and he said that Shepard was at QB and on one play ran all the way for a touchdown. After he scored, one of the defensive coaches (don't know which one) yelled can anybody tackle that guy! And one of the players responded, coach, tackle him, we can't touch him!

Coach SFP is right...the #1 QB recruit in the country has NO shot at beating out LSU's QB's from last year!

"If you have two QBs you might as well not even have one". We need one guy in the back field. If you want a wrinkle formation, thats fine, but the dual QB is not a good idea, IMO

2 out of the last 3 National Champions used 2 QB systems.

I'd be shocked if RS threw more than 10 passes next year

just cant see him being that "real" QB that SFP refers to either

...and LSU recruited him as QB!

But you're probably right...he has no chance of beating out Jarrett Lee!

we said we'd give him a shot at QB

i think he'll get a shot

JJ has 3 more years of eligibility

Garrett has 4, maybe 5

Lee has 3 more years

if RS plays as a true frosh, that gives him in all liklihood 1 year to play full-time QB

And fortunately for RS (and LSU), you aren't the one who will be in the position of making sure that he gets that shot!

By the way, are you ready to admit yet that, in your expert personnel evaluation opinion, it was a good idea to start Hester over K. Williams?

All of which may accelerate, Miles hinted, Shepard moving toward a role many expect him to assume -- that of the electrifying playmaker. Shepard's future at LSU, particularly if wide receiver/sprinter Trindon Holliday pursues a pro career in track, may lie in the receiving corps, and as a player who takes snaps in a shotgun formation and creates space.

So I interpret this to mean he is the next Mike Vick and Crowton will use him everywhere... Again thats just my interpretation of the sitution, having never been there of course...
