Can someone let the powers that be at LSU know that it's ok to do it now instead of waiting until the off season?

Completely different situation. Alex Grinch was supposed to be fired by Riley a long time ago. He has never had any success but Riley and him are friends. It took him this long to fire him.

Matt House had a successful defense last year and has only had a bad season with us this year. His fate was sealed during the 3 game stretch of Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Mizzou. But not going to be fired midseason for this one bad season there is zero benefit to this.

Going from bad to worse is not "successful".

Kelly is a sticker for doing things "the way they're supposed to be done". And firing a coach "not for cause" and with 3 games to go isn't that.

Riley isn’t known for having great defenses. He brought Grinch with him from OU.

The same guy who allowed us to drop over 40 points on his defense in half a game.

This was to appease the masses. And I’m sure their defense will immediately improve now that Grinch has been canned.

Not acknowledging our defense being a success last year is just ignorant. They had a lot of good adjustments out of halftime and stopped a lot of good offenses to keep us in the game while giving the offense time to get going. This year has been a disaster but to not even recognize the success the defense had last year is shameful.

What positive does LSU gain by firing him now outside of making some of our fans happy? Does the Defense magically get better by promoting someone underneath him? At this point in the season, I honestly don't think so. We don't need to be trying to be like USC .

I think a different voice alone might shake things up, Make a statement so we can get better recruits at least. Do ONE thing good. It’s almost like they’re playing call of duty instead of practicing or something

Doing better for the last 4 games is not the point.

Did you attend the games or actually watch last year?
If it was't for Perkins going off against Arkansas and Ole miss last year we would have lost those games. That wasn't much coaching in that scheme. Tenn blew us out at HOME

At the most it was an Average defense. That comes to a
(C) grade. "C grade defense is not nearly good enough at LSU

It would nor hurt us one bit to cut Matt House loose today. It might even help us.

One of the adjustments against Ole Miss was using Perk on the edge. Yes, it worked and an ignorant fan could say it was not coaching just perk.

Against Arkansas they were playing a running QB and we used Perk the same way we did against Bama and it was highly successful. The offense was the issue that game.

Mississippi state, Auburn, and Bama all had good defensive game plans/adjustments that led to shutting down their attack at different points of the game.

The main difference between last year and this year is the transfer portal DBs were a productive last year and this year the DBs taken in the transfer portal have been a disappointment.

From where the defense was in 2020-2021 the defense in 2022 was greatly improved. We would not have won the games against Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Bama if not for the defensive performance. The first half against Bama was the entire reason we won that game.

Wow good job. You chose a game where the entire team played like dog shite from the start and place the blame on the defense. House has been terrible this year but that doesn't change the fact that last year the team won 10 games in large part to the second half emergence of Daniels and the defensive unit.

He will not be retained and the next DC will have their work cut out for them but people need to be truthful about where this team was when this staff was hired and not be ignorant thinking we had a good defense when they were brought in.
