There are only 2 outcomes then. Either Orgeron surprises everyone & comes away looking like a genius, or he ends up looking like a complete buffoon & even the sunshine pumpers turn on him.

Hopefully O is smart enough to realize what he just got himself into.

I liked O's stat about SE being 89% in the redzone in 2016.

That stat is meaningless if you don't get in the redzone.

No excuses. This is exactly how it would be regardless of OC hire. O is the guy responsible, and he knows it like all HC's know it. In any organization, the top guy wants people he has confidence with key positions. For O it is E.

A lot of LSU fans are rejoicing. Today is the beginning of the end of coach Zero.

He has less than 365 days left as LSU's coach and he will be gone forever and listed as another embarrassing former hire at LSU.

good luck explaining that to the buffoons here. They think we play in the WAC.

Left himself no wiggle room. Have a legit top notch DC and “the best playcaller in the country.”

I mean that's all well and good....but steve got his arse handed to him in his only 2 true tests during that run.

I was thinking that was one good stat, except we didnt even get int the redzone against bama and lost the UF game in the redzone.

the reason this announcement probably took so long is they were probably trying to pile up as much bullshite as possible to sell this thing

BilJ, with this kind of sarcasm, set forth on an LSU message board of all places, how can you expect O to succeed?

The only thing holding this team back is the lack of cheerful, blind obedience of the fans.

What if we do that and the defense regresses?

We're losing a lot of DBs (DBU and all that)...

And, with the teams we play, particularly in the West, I DGAF about national offensive rankings. I care about national defensive rankings and conference offensive rankings.

Anything below 4 or 5 is subpar and needs to be addressed. We need to get better at scoring - I liked O's stat about SE being 89% in the redzone in 2016.

You’re not allowed to ask these questions and they will go unanswered. There’s no possible way there’s “another side of the coin.” It’s absolutely impossible that the offense COULD be competent.

I’m not saying it will be. All I’m saying is I’m not going to completely close the door on that possibility

Who said it’s impossible?

I’m simply using the comments from both coaches today to establish that there is no excuse if it does struggle. Per their words, everything is in place for an elite offense

I expect to see an improved offense and a dominating defense. Tough schedule but 10-2 is possible.
