I also love CJJ as well. I enjoy winning nearly 20 SEC games and leading the league in hitting. I expect he will improve the pitching next season. It's pretty alarming how critical people are in year two when the season is not even over. It's been a highly successful season with everything still ahead of the team and people are just shitting on the man left and right. Losing today may not even be a bad thing for this team moving forward. There are positives to take from this tournament. Mainly the pitching. Hopefully the bats come around and I think they will.

I hate to say it, but its only going to get worse from here. Too many football minded fans start to pick up on baseball this time of year and start injecting their ignorance EVERYWHERE

I saw a post earlier alluding to LSU traveling for a regional after the loss today

the rant in a nutshell

I mean we are in a position where we dont have to fight for a top 8 seed so we use the tournament as maintenance, limit our pitchers, get some guys some ABs, rest, etc and some people are in nuclear lava meltdown. That’s called a blessing.

We are positioned very well heading into the postseason and Jay is a huge reason why. He has made some questionable calls but this team has had a damn good year.

Exactly because we're a basketball school anyway.

It has been my experience that a lot of the people who complain about the so-called "football crowd" are some of the least credible baseball posters. They just emote toward anything that isn't positive, and don't present much insight on their own perspective. Mostly they just hurl insults. A sure sign of ignorance.

I’m confident they will. We have proven repeatedly this year we are too good to be this bad for this long. I think in a weird way losing to A&M worked in our favor.

My man, love the optimism and I’m hoping for a solid run, but the pitching simply isn’t there.

OM was also 8-2 in their last 10 SEC games prior to Hoover.

I can agree with that. That's an easy one to latch onto. Doesn't mean its wrong though. But I can assure you, I don't fit into that category.

Most people don't follow college baseball from February to June. And most people mainly follow football. Thats not an opinion. You cant apply the same mindset to baseball as you do football. It just doesn't work like that. Yet that's what happens this time of year. Its not necessarily their fault, they just cant grasp the totality of the bigger picture.

I’ll never understand when people tell fans to “enjoy the ride” after the team loses a game. It makes no sense

The thing is, outside of whatever you referenced about a post of someone saying this team wouldn't host, where that was obviously an ignorant fan, or a troll, I just don't see where people are getting the idea that having a low opinion of the team right now means that football fans are showing up, and don't know what they're talking about.

Objectively, this team is not playing well in any phase. I am a year long baseball fan, and I watch well over 200 games a year between LSU and the Braves. Overreacting to one game is what an ignorant fan would do. This is about 4 weeks of this, and the problems that have led to this were apparent well before the losing started. I was one of those warning that LSU's ugly pitching and defense was not going to be a good recipe for success down the stretch. That, to me, should have been obvious to anyone. Now it's happening, and people are mad that some of us are speaking the obvious.

Now, as a fan, I'm going to hope that they pull themselves out of this, and go into every game believing we have a chance to win. Because we do. There is enough offense to always have a chance. But it's real hard to win this way. The failure to hit with runners in scoring position, lately, is compounding our issues.

Let me help you. So it means it’s not over. Don’t act like the car is totaled just cause you got a flat. The dude recruited his arse off and isn’t going to stop after 1 year. So it means, after a loss, try to see the big picture. I hope that helps

That’s great. I’m really happy he has recruited his arse off and I believe he’s going to continue to do so. Just because we might possibly win a natty in 3 years doesn’t mean fans should not be upset when LSU is losing. Obviously the season isn’t over. But when the team is regressing over the last month of the season, it’s going to make fans upset.

When you start letting losses affect your personal life that’s when you need to stop watching sports. Enjoy it all win or lose ok sweetie

I see it different. Sure losing to A&M gave us about a day and a half more rest for 19 and 20 year olds and a higher seed which most likely brings in a more difficult Super Regional.

Well that’s a lie. They have consistently hit well all year. They outhit both teams 23-13 in the last two losses. Pitching is even looking better. Just admit your dumbass doesn’t watch the games

I think Mulkey mentioned last year not to worry about SEC championship. Rest and preparing for regionals makes more sense in a year like this.
