re: So much blame on Miles but what about Copeland

We can blame this loss on any person you wish. At the end of the day, the gumps still have the win. Both the LSU fan base and national audience saw the a$$ beating the gumps took. The long drives and the fact they converted 1/9 3rd downs. They didn't beat us because they were better. They beat us because of a series of decisions by a coach that probably believed he was giving his team the best chance to win. When all the blame is done, we still lose. Its on to the bull dawgs.

Still the coaches fault. He has had NUMEROUS penalty's of that exact kind this year. It is the coaches job to teach him it is unacceptable.

We gambled and lost those gambles, but if we get them Miles gets praised. It comes with the territory.
It does come with the territory, so you shouldn't be surprised about people voicing their opinion about it. It's not just LSU fans - it's sportscasters, reporters, fans of other teams, etc. It comes with the territory.

Be upset we lost. Be upset our coach isnt perfect. But anytime we lose this place is miserable. We played and coached out of ourinds last night.
We lost. I get it. I was in attendance and it hurt but at the end of the day I was proud of the entire team and coaches for how they performed and was positive that when I got home Les would finally have earned your respect for dominating Bama. He made all the correct adjustments and put our team in a position to win.
Kick the FG and make it late to give us a 6 point lead and then we get to kick it off and pin them deeper.
Get the first down with Warecat. All ware has to do is the quick drew brees jump.
Am I mad at alleman or ware? Nope. They are young and will keep improving.
Do I agree with every play call? No, but no one will ever be 100% in agreement because we all think we know better.
You don't break down hours and hours of film or spend hours a week at practices. Maybe Alleman is booming 80 yarders against a rush in practice so a 54 yarder is a chip shot.
Or maybe Alleman slipped a bit. Maybe Ware gets 1 yard 99 out of 100 tries.

es, it was a bad penalty... but it's not like it cost us points or even an opportunity for points
Jesus Christ are you serious?!? We would have had a first down on the Alabama 12 yard line. You have to figure we come away with something. I don't mean to "call out" anyone but that's crazy if you don't think we lost an opportunity to score at that point in the game.

If that's the case, why fake it on 4th and 12 on a much shorter FG?
Look, I'm not a Les hater and I was proud of the team. Our team was prepared and ready and we made adjustments. I just have an issue with mind-boggling calls in a game that means everything. That's all.

I put no blame on anyone. We played out of our minds and came up short. It hurts. If you can't stop hating for a second to see that then you have personal problems.
fricking this. Down 8 starters and Reid and Loston get dinged up and we are a double digit dog ( no one gave us a chance, I mean no one)and we come up short. I'm never happy about a loss, but our team found itself last night. I hope you pass happy negatards got your wish.

It did cost us. Without the penalty , we are at the 11 yard line and we are running it down their throats. It's pushed us out of fg range.

Still had several downs to get into fg range.

I'm not going to blame Copeland...emotions get the better of these guys from time to time. It happens. This isn't the first time he's been called for something like this though...I hope he can lock it down a little better in the future.

I don't put not getting points there, all on Cope, but it did put us out of fg range. It def took 3 off the board. There are two play calls I want back. 4& 12 fake( wtf ) and kicking a 54 yarder ( 10 yards longer than his career long). All the other calls are acceptable even if thy weren't successful. Although , on the 4&1 , there is no way I'm not lining up in the I and running Hill right behind Copeland. No way. Hill was gashing them for Atleast 3 yards a carry.

Regardless, that was a GIGANTIC penalty.
Copeland has had punk tendencies this whole year. He almost got a penalty the first time he touched the ball during the game after the ref got up in his face.

Copeland has been one of our best players since joining the team. The guy has been a warrior for LSU. So I won't hate too much. He is one of the reasons we run the ball so effectively.

I put blame on the drive that Bama scored on with a minute and some change.... the defense played too passive; you cant play 10 yrds deep.... why do that when your defense has been dominant the whole game; stick to what was working. They went into "prevention mode" and it cost them the game... up until that drive, LSU dominated the run, the pass, and the defensive game!

100 percent correct! Miles players lack discipline. When Saban s players screw up he takes them apart emotionally on the sideline, he demands excellence! Miles would like you to try your best and if you screw up that's ok because he is still payed. Penalties, lack of discipline and goddam missed field goals and poor special teams. I don't hear about a bunch of Sabans players busted for weed. It may be covered up but his players are held accountable.

He is partially to blame. The hit was boneheaded. This is the second time this season he has negated a big play due to a late hit. I love JC as a player...but he is a jerk and pitiful trash talker at times at times. Kid's got an attitude problem. If anyone noticed on tv Tharold went over to give him a hard time and he pushed him...

Nobody would be going for miles head if he sat a fullback. I like copeland. I think hes good but to say that people would have miles head if he sat copeland because of personal fouls is ridiculous.

I had tried to make a point similar to this on the score board… Despite the coaching mistakes this team had the chance to win the game and mad too many mistakes to win a game like this. Two examples are:
• Big personal foul after Hill’s run stopped a scoring drive
• On Bama’s last drive we could not put pressure on AJ with 4 man rush. However, on our last drive Bama put pressure on Mett and sacked him.
This is not to bash the players. There are a lot of moments in game like this that must go right. As with the season the coaches and players have made too many mistakes. There were fewer than some of the recent games but still too many to win games like this. Hope they continue to build on this, will see what next week brings……
Too many opportunities for this coach and players to improve to win it all... Hope they continue to get better as the season finishes and into next year…………………
