I love what CLM is saying.

We play in the SEC. Every game is tough. Our team needs to be tougher.

We need to be big and physical up front.

We must run the football. We must play 4 quarters of mean, nasty arse football.

It's spring. Almost every position should be an open competition.

Steal sharpens steal.

I'm fired up!!!

I'd rather lose acouple people if it makes the team as a whole tough..... It would be better than losing half the team in an important game (see lsu vs bama this past season)

I'm glad he's doing this, this is the type of team we need!

yeah Ciron and several other upperclassmen appeared to have pretty sour attitudes by mid season. The team stays at the Alumni Hotel before each game and Ciron and others were frequently late (by almost an hour) for team breakfast on game mornings. On day of UF game while walking throught the lobby, Ciron was asked why he was late and he said "I don't give a frick". Discipline WAS a problem last year and most people don't know about it.

I don't know if this is true but it seems completely believable because his actions on the field back that story up to a tee. He is football's equivalent of David West - a whiney bitch that plays hard only when he wants to and that's only about 1/3 of the time.

SO TRUE.

He says we are going to practice harder, and half the 'tards criticizing the team for being too soft come on here with the oh nooz, we're going to get our boys hurt, tired, whatever.

Ciron Black did not have the appearance of someone who worked too hard in practice last year.

Nor did he have the appearance of someone that worked hard in offseason conditioning or the weight room.

I hate to admit, though LSU lost to Bama just because they were tougher than us.
Our team hasn't been tough late in the year for a few years now, Miles has the right idea, we need to get a lot tougher.

Louisiana Tech was tougher than LSU. Miles needs a tougher, better conditioned team on the field. The 4th quarter vs bama was absolutely embarrassing. If he can put a better conditioned, tougher group on the field props to him. Will believe it when I see it.

Anyone take that as a bad sign?

No. The team was soft last year and I'm not sure how any reasonable person can think otherwise. If this helps the team get tougher, then so be it. But I agree they need to work smart while also working hard.

Coach Miles cant win here.
He either practices too hard and wears out the players or doesnt practice enough and has soft players.

I think we should let him do what he's getting paid for and not critisize him until the season is over, if needed...

DiNardo tried that his last season and the team quit on him.

It's called losing control of your team.

For the amount of money he is making he should have been doing this all the time.

Reading his practice plan for this spring, it sounds like he's saying this is something new. What is different about it from last spring? It sounds like a typical 'anyother' SEC team practice plan to me. Is he saying he was softer last spring? Maybe it's just 'Miles Speak' and nothing will change much. If not maybe he's feeling the heat and saying his players are about to feel the same heat. If so, that can only be a good thing.

Either way not many SEC spring practices go by without key injuries. I believe fewer injuries result when everyone is going all out. The slackers are the ones more injury prone.

The OL and JJ need to show some big improvements. The TE, RB, FB, WR potential is huge. Hope Gonzo helps right the Offensive. Def should be fine.

I agree with that, i think a lot of kids work hard for someone they have confidence in. I believe quite a few of them lost confidence in him...its up to miles to get it back...he has to set the tone himself and work hard, invest more of himself in the program, kids see that stuff...attitude reflects leadership...

I do not believe that Coach Miles will be the LSU football coach in three years, so, what he does now should not cause any fan in-fighting.

Last year all we heard was how Miles should be more like Saban. Saban was quoted all year on how there was competition for all positions and Bama's practices we drill oriented.

Fast forward to Spring 2010, Miles' is talking about competition and drills and whala, the Negatigers are complaining about him hurting players.

You can't have it both ways, let the man coach.
