Hester was more gritty and determined, Keiland has all the physical tools.

the point of the KW/Hester comparison of fumbles is because Hester was hailed as a ball protector. KW has never fumbled and Hester has, yet KW now has the stigma of a having a fumbling problem (per ESPN)

Why are many of you getting upset over this? The guy didn't say that Keiland Williams fumbled too much last year in games. He was just using what Les Miles has said,

quote:

“I liked the way we rushed the ball on offense. (Richard) Murphy was very loose and fast. He had a very strong showing. Keiland Williams had some nice carries, but no back can put the ball on the ground. He (Williams) did that, and that’s an issue.”

LSU fans everywhere have been asking why Keiland hasn't been playing more. It has long been rumored that he has fumbled the ball during practice. This isn't the first time we have read this, but now that someone writes it in an article people are getting mad. The writer was just giving a reason for why Keiland Williams hasn't had more carries, and that came from what Les Miles said.

It is talked about at least once a week on this board that someone on the LSU coaching staff thinks that KW has a fumbling problem.

I am not sure I agree with this assesment, but LSU fans keep repeating this over and over and now you all are mad because ESPN is reporting the same?

Jacob Hester carried more times, hard between the tackle, crunch time carries, when the other team is going for the ball carries. FACT.

Scott will be our feature back by the end of the season. He's the best all-around back and has most pro potential. Good inside power runner and enough speed to break long runs and punish the secondary. RM is too small to carry the load a whole game and I haven't seen KW do much power running. I don't know if that's because the coaches don't use him that way or if he's just not good at it or both. Reports are that Scott is looking great during summer workouts.

I just think ESPN hates Louisiana. They hate TECH too. The Bulldogs have accomplished just as much as Fresno State, but ESPN shunes the guys from Ruston while making Boise and Fresno their little media darlings. I wish Herbstriet would bring his a$$ to the 'Joe'!!!!!!!!!!

To my knowlege he has not lost a fumble in a game.

but his fumbling problems in practice led to him not playing more in the game. At least that is what Miles insinuated.

saying that Keiland fumbled in the spring game and any back that fumbles will not play insinuates that he fumbles all the fricking time in practice his entire career? Not so much.

Anyone have a screenshot of when Thomas Davis fricking pwned Jacob Hester in 2004?

Can someone confirm this. It's like speculation that turned into gossip that became a rumor and is now truth based on perception. Not saying it's not the truth, but rumor and speculation is all I've heard.

I love Scott and think he is the most complete back LSU has imho, but I think it will be RB by committee big time this year which I'm ok with.

Hester will not be taking any carries away from KW this year. Fact!

Hester has nothing to do with ESPN's thought process. Fact!

Les Miles comments brought ESPN to this conclusion. Fact!

You and SFP's pussy still hurts over the rb situation last year. Fact!

We lost the UK game because Hester got the ball too much. FACT.

Hester is more complete than LaDanian so he should be starting this year in SD. FACT

So what?

see above comment.

very nice and pertinent as well.

Again, the comparison between the two rb's is the fact that Hester fumbled in a game and KW has not, but Hester is regarded as a guy who never fumbles and KW is regarded as a guy with the droppsies.

It's a fair comparison to make.

So why do you morons think Miles has NOT played KW as much as you would like? He just LIKED Hester more? Racism? Obviously there is a reason why the coach of a national championship team did not play him. I really don't care what your opinions are about it, because all that really matters is the REAL REASON. Why don't you get press credentials and ask Miles yourselves?
