We lost to clemson so our recruiting took a hit. At least according to a lot of folks.

Well does this many juniors going to the NFL from a team that lost to Clemson in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl help recruiting?

We've got to have HS players out there seeing how they can be in the NFL early. They can play early at LSU because of these openings.

It doesn't hurt. They see how many players are going to NFL and then see an opportunity to come in for PT immediately.

You think maybe some think they cannot improve under Miles and might as well pick up a pay check. Kind of a mixed message ...

Anyone that thinks losing a bunch of juniors that play significant roles is a good thing is delusional.
We have other players on the team. There are reasons why these guys played.

well we went from a team that had a window to play for the national title this year in 2011 and going into next year 2012 had some of these guys returned.

we shite the bed this year, and next year is looking pretty grim. Not saying we'll suck, but we are losing 4-5 of our top defensive players. not to mention Wing who was HUGE part of our success, esp in 2011.

And on offense there are a ton of question marks. Average WRs, Mett who is up and down. What exactly are we going to lean on next year?

yea actually it does.

Learn what a depth chart is and why HS recruits pay attention to them when they choose a school.

Huge if, but if the receivers improve and mett works on his consistency, we could make a NC run. Remember, we were one drive away from the SECCG this year

LSU takes too many recruits early for it to have much of an affect this year

And do you not think the losses on D will have an effect?
How can it not?

I never said the losses on D wouldn't have an effect

However, a lot of the reason people were able to actually move the ball on our D is because they were on the field so damn much. Keep drives going, instead of going three and out, etc. and give the D more time to catch their breath

Dropoff will be at DE obviously, but I think our d-line will still be very talented overall, albeit young

Everything that has happened in the past 12 months is great for a middle of the pack SEC team. We should feel happy.

The purpose of this thread was to show people that good things and bad things happen. They don't all affect recruiting as much as some want them to.

Lsu is an NFL pipeline. we already had the most NFL players. It will help recruiting

Miles gameday x's and o's might blow but can't fault him for maintaining an NFL pipeline
