and someone says to me: "I can't believe you're wearing that after this year."

My response was: "My pride in and loyalty toward LSU does not fluctuate with the performance of the football team." (I'd been hearing it from co-workers lately and had prepared that statement because I knew it was coming)

The guy was a little surprised and we both went our separate ways.

Now I graduated from LSU and have been die hard for years. 0-12 wouldn't stop me from attending games and loving the university.

Question #1: What % of Tiger fans are bandwagon types?

Question #2: How can we ever get rid of them?

I would have told them there's a big basketball game tonight. I support all tiger teams.

I can tell you right now that assclown didn't go to LSU nor graduate because he wouldn't have said that if he did.

Those of us that went and/or graduated from LSU probably own all kind of LSU gear that we wear everywhere, because of the pride we have not only from the sports but having gone to school there. What a concept huh? Wear your school's colors...

Of course if some dumbass that's never sniffed a classroom on LSU's campus looked at the Tigers the same way I look at the Saints (in a casual manner), they would be embarassed to wear LSU clothing right now.

Got dirty looks at the mall yesterday with my LSU jacket and hat on. "What did you think about that game yesterday? Why would you wear that now?" My response, "I thought the game sucked. I'm wearing this because I'm not a piece of shite bandwagon fan which you obviously are by asking me that dumb fricking question."

This is my first year at LSU, and i've had the love for them since about age 4 (22 now) so it's not that they didn't attend LSU it's just that they have been fans since 2003. Cuz had I never had the opportunity to attend LSU that would've never changed my LOVE for my TIGERS

The sports confession thread a few days back revealed that some of our most prolific posters were "fans" of other teams prior to the Saban era. Kind of surprised me somewhat, but the more I thought about it, the less of a surprise it became.

When you read some of the posts on here, it can't really be too shocking that some of the Rantards were Miami and Notre Dame bandwagoners only a few short years ago.

frick em

Agreed. I saw just as many car flags on the way to Little Rock as I did on the drive home...

I compare much of it to Saints '06 and Hornets '08. Fans for a year.

For the record, I have never and will never actively root for another team. Flakes, all of you.

I'm in trouble if I go to the mall because I have an almost embarassing amount of different LSU shirts/hoodies, etc.

ya you graduated from LSU... that person... did not. FACT

i go to lsu now and i don't mind when someone not really affiliatied with the school is a fan. afterall lsu is a statewide commodity but that really sucks when someone bandwagons like that. that same person will probably be wearin a florida sweatshirt tommorrow...

I'll admit I was an Auburn fan but that came from living in Alabama through high school and not having any ties to LSU until I went there.

Instantly fell in love with it and haven't worn blue and orange together in over 6 years.
