I would be excited to be part of a rebuild that included a coach like Kelly.

He’s not looking in the portal. It’s not a website that you can visit. It’s a private database.

I believe we will be big players in the portal. Michigan State was much improved after getting starters in the portal. One observation from my look through the portal is that the majority of these kids were 3-Stars.
I'd focus on the 4-Stars to find a quality player at a position of need. But, you gotta ask yourself, why are these 4 and 5-star guys leaving? Many are getting a new coaching staff or simply weren't getting the PT they thought they deserved.
It's alarming when you have 4-Star guys leaving on a coach's 2nd year - see Texas. Really hurts to see the 2nd ranked transfer is 5-Star Ricks

What would be reasons for entering transfer portal

? lack of playing time
? not happy with coach
? not happy with new coach
? homesick
? not happy with Louisiana
? doesn't like to lose
? had playing time but was benched for a game, got feelings hurt
? just wanted a better team to improve draft stock
? more NIL money from other schools

There are other reasons, and we may never know what applies to each transfer player

NIL, opting out and transfer portal will totally change college sports along with fanbase loyalty. Fans can opt out also

Except now better players are transferring all over the country because they don’t have to sit out, even if they stay in conference.

Hence the reason Orgeron was fired Do yourself a favor and go look at what ND player was in the portal last year. Kelly was hired to manage and run a juggernaut in the making. Ray Charles can see the talent in this state year over year. We are blessed. Just need to get the numbskulls out of the way and roll.

these guys are reranked in the portal based on different factors. Later on you'll see HS rank with transfer rank.

Some just want more money, others want to play.

So who really matters? Deion Smith, highly ranked, flashed some this year.

Max? May not start next year anyway.

Myles B? Would we want him to start the bowl game, play next year while Walker develops and let Nuss/Max both go with their dad's pulling strings, etc.?

Landon Jackson, rated well, but couldn't cut it here.

Eli Ricks, definitely the biggest blow IMO.

Nate Harris, Nav Strong, Koy Moore and Eric Taylor, do these guys even really matter? From depth, yeah sure, but maybe they're getting out because they know they won't play.
