And holy orange pom poms wrapped around a shite sammich were they condescending to LSU and overconfident about their own abilities. You’d think they were playing a team they owned instead of a team that wrecks their shite for fun just because we can. And you’d think their defense was the 86 Bears . Talk about delusional. These guys were drinking their own awesome sauce. Big mistake . LSU punked them for the ninth time in twelve games and they never saw it coming. It like it never occurred to them that this was even possible. I freaking love it.

The few AU people I have encountered actually understand that they lose 3 out of 4 to us, but that one time they beat us, they play for national championships

It's starting to dawn on Auburn fans that LSU owns that arse. And they don't like it one bit.

It sure hasn’t dawned on them 48 hours ago. And glad to see you sobered up.

They can point to the penalties all they want (and they were fair calls), LSU had just as many at key points that helped AU's drives and we still had better stats (outside of score).

If AU won, it was in defiance of the score. LSU had better stats and, thankfully, the higher score. It's not like AU dominated in the stats and somehow lost. LSU was the better overall team, however close the game was. Also, they had the advantage at home.

Take your loss with style...

You too mate.

And the podcasts were Auburn football All Access and Auburn Undercover Podcast. Listened to them on my podcast app on the iPhone. Hilarious in retrospect because they were so Sure they were going to demolish us, even at one point referencing the 2016 game. Always with the required disclaimer that “ that’s why they play the game” but completely delusional about both their identity and ours.

I have a friend who played there in the early 90’s and is now a HS ftball coach in Pensacola. He is a realistic, honest fan and said, “if lsu wins it will be because of your kicker and we have a young secondary and Burrow burns them.” He called it.

85 Bears. I think the Giants, with Lawrence Taylor, were the dominant D in 86.

It was the '85 Bears. They are the most dominant NFL defense I have seen in my 50 years. They won the Super Bowl in January '86.

Watch Wikipedia save my arse:

quote:

As had been the case the year before, the Bears were once again led by their explosive defense. Any shortcomings on the offensive side of the ball were more than made up for on the defensive side. They once again were ranked #1 in the NFL. The Bears' defense became the third defense in the history of the NFL to lead the league in fewest points allowed and fewest total yards allowed for two consecutive seasons.[3] The Bears' 187 points allowed is the fewest surrendered by any team in the 1980s (other than the strike-shortened 1982 season) – even fewer than the 198 points the Bears allowed in their historic 1985 season.
