This is definitely more pleasant than the delusional Arkansas fans. Thanks for posting some "reasonable" speculation.
UGA COULD upset LSU. That's why they play the game and not just speculate about it. I like UGA. I like Richt. I was born in Macon, GA and remember screaming my head off as Hershel Walker ran over people. I grew up in Louisiana though and I'm a Tiger fan through and through. I know most everyone on this board looks at this through purple and gold glasses as you are biased toward Georgia. I've watched both Georgia's and LSU's games this year. The Georgia/Florida game was the one that left me the most underwhelmed about Georgia. They won that game, but again, underwhelmed. IF I were a betting man, I would do like another poster and take LSU with the current line. The game stays close halfway through the third and then LSU runs away with it. It's the same story in every game this year. LSU's depth is unreal. LSU players are still fresh when the other team wears down.

Boise state-
Yeah they won and we got our arse kicked. Why did they win? Because they have starters that have been there since the ice age. We had freshmen than have never played and we didn't know who should go where or how good each guy really was.
These guys have really stepped up. Look at all the talent we have at receiver now, we didn't know we that many weapons to work with then. Lb's...we though we were short of good one's, but that is one of our strongest positions now.
Arkansas has the best receiving group in the league and arguably the best QB. How did that work out? 17 points.

Strength of schedule-
Really? It's the SEC......only having 1 loss is rather impressive if you ask me I don't care who it is.
Surely you are not going to talk Strength of Schedule with LSU.
quote:
South Carolina-
We turned the ball over a million times on offense and our defense held them to 17 points. We scored 42. If we could have held on to the ball we win big. We don't have this problem now.
LSU's defense is a turnover machine. That is the excuse of many losers to the Tigers, "We would have won if we didn't turn the ball over". Ever heard of the Honey Badger? Or Mo Claiborne? Or Ron Brooks? Or Reid? The list just goes on and on.

Not beating kentucky bad- Our best rb's were out and uga knew they could win with defense. We just didn't put in effort to be honest......
LSU never runs low with quality RB's. We have at least 5 with no noticable drop off. We have had 4 to lead the team in rushing and 4 to rush for 100+ yards in a game. In other words LSU is DEEP at every position which allows them to go full bore for 60 minutes. That is where most teams fall short, they cannot go full bore for 60 minutes at every position. LSU is 3 deep at virtually each position with little to no drop off in talent or execution. At QB, Mett, the top JC All-American QB, is 3rd string and he was basically even with your starting QB.
41 - 24 LSU
By the way which is a better team Ark or GA? Which would win head to head?

He answered the question himself. UGA has no depth, and LSU is the deepest team in college football.

If you say if you lose to uga it doesn't matter because you still go to the NC game..........well how can you guarantee a win vs Bama again? They missed 5 field goals and that int at the 1 was not an int, so it really should have not even went into overtime.
Lose to uga and yeah u go to the NC game, but what if you lose to Bama also? Then you would have wished you beat uga.....

We will try to beat Ga. don't worry about that.
People always harp on the 5 missed field goals as if missing 5 (one blocked) means they should have won. Hello, they we all close to 50 yards, some longer.
Real story about the missed field goals is Alabama has stupid coaches asking their guys to do things they aren't capable of doing. Story is stupid coaching decisions.
You realize Alabama never sniffed the endzone don't you? Whereas LSU probably could have got the td had the clock had more time at the end of the first half and in OT.
And the interception WAS and interception, it was even CONFIRMED by the replay booth.

All im saying is alot of people are writing uga off and it really doesn't make any sense.
I'm not. I don't think, as we sit here today that UGA is as good as Bama or Arkansas. However, UGA is peaking late (which scares me) and great QB play can allow UGA to stay in the game and mount a comeback. I personally don't think it will be a blowout, but at the same time, I think we do what we always do - stop, or limit, the run and force you to beat us with the passing game. You may move the ball that way (WVU), but, we don't give up the big play, force you to earn all of your points AND play mistake free football.
That's a tall order, but UGA may have the right combination of balance (not weighted too much to 1 side of the ball or the other), QB play, coaching and enough run defense to keep us from literally, running away with the game.
I will not be surprised if this is a close 1 into the 4th quarter and perhaps a nail-biter at the end. I still think we win because of talent and something we've lacked the past 3 seasons - intensity. Nobody, not even Bama has been as intense as we have been in our games in the 4th quarter. We get stronger while the opponent withers - even Bama.

I think the comparisons between Arky and UGA are a bit misguided. Arkys receivers are far superior to UGAs. But UGA's oline would eat Arkys oline. Literally. The razorback Oline is made of marshmallow. Also, they're running game is better.
Looking at LSUs opponents, I think that UGA is a better version of State. Having said that, LSU by 10.

They didn't score 17 points on offense. The scoop and score, defensively, means the vaunted Pigs offense scored a whopping 10 points against LSU's "gifted but porous" defense. (The WVU game has really screwed up people in planning for us - they try that gameplan, ignoring the fact that we still limited their points and the yardage was partially by design and partially due to poor tackling - and most teams aren't as efficient at running that offense).

Yes, blowout. Everyone else said the same and they all lost by double digits, outside of bama at t town.

It was 4 missed field goals (1 blocked). The field goals were from 44, 50, 49, and 52. Why do people keep forgetting that these are far from gimmes. And yeah, that was an interception.

It's a good thing nobody here plays for LSU, so this whole statement doesn't make one lick of difference.

Overrated defense is overrated.

I think UGA does well in the first half, but LSU wins by two possessions at least. I hate being overconfident, so that's an objective opinion.

Every week opposing teams come here saying no way we blow them out. Guess what we continue to do?

The only thing holding the Bengal players back is the gameplan. The last thing we want to see is a key injury that does not resolve prior to the BCSNC. That said LSU will be focused and will play their usual game of special team, defense, field position, and most lately a balanced offense. The may also try some trick plays if possible just to keep Saban guessing.
