Firm lead? He is literally the front runner right now.

That's a pretty good day against a 12th ranked team. He gets another shot at Washington, too. Jayden has to put up video game numbers. Again.

Splitting hairs, but they we’re ranked 16th and probably will not be ranked in the next poll.

LSU and JD are going to be fighting to get a $100 Best Buy gift card with their bowl swag bag.
Yeah, that's great...Oregon's current players were shitting in their diapers or weren't even born yet the last time the Pac-12 won a national championship in football. So relevant.

I don't know about all of that, but Daniels has routinely done what Nix did last night. Against the 4 top 12 teams he has played, Daniels has averaged 309 yards passing and 114 yards rushing per game (413 yard avg.) along with 3 TDs (all on the road). His ypc against those teams is 8.14 yards and is even bolstered by his 14.8 ypc/163 yards against the Bama D where he only played 3 quarters.
I do think Nix has played great, but he does throw a lot of short passes and his competition has been pathetic with the Pac-12 defenses. Still, perception is likely different for a number of voters just because Nix's team still has a chance for a playoff spot even though the weak Pac-12 hasn't won a football national title in decades.

A couple of their teams get overrated every year because they play in a weak conference. It never accomplishes much on the biggest stage.
I like Nix, I think he is a good guy and I think he has played great. And if he would win it, I'd be happy for him. I do not think he'd have the same results if he played in the SEC. I just think Daniels has done the most in the toughest situation.

Gameday just had a little stat snippet at the bottom of the screen, 65% of Nix’s passing yards have come after the catch. TIFWIW

He was playing their biggest rival who happened to be #16 and has a good defense.
Easy there, there is a really good chance 5 other teams in the PAC2 has as many wins as OSU, and their D is around 65th in the nation.
They are NOT good. Average at best.

Based solely on the eye test, who in their right mind considers the play of Nix on the same level as Daniels?
Daniels would arguably deserve the Heisman if he didn't run for a single yard this season or run for a single touchdown. But he ran for over 1,100 yds and had 10 TDs.
This isn't even close based on the eye test.

It’s a shame that it’s going to be Nix. How do you have better stats and add 1100 rushing yards on top of that and not recieve the Heisman because another candidate is playing in a championship game. Daniels had better stats than Burrow through 11 games and won’t have anything to show for it because of media narrative.
