If the point you're making is that championship teams don't lose often, I'm not sure anyone is going to disagree with you...

The poster I was replying to apparently did. He said we have "done this" (i.e. perform poorly in midweek games vs. in-state opponents) in years when we have won championships. My reply was to set the record straight on that false assertion. The worst any of our championship teams ever did in these games was 12-5, and that was back in 1991.

The 2009 team lost to Nicholls. At least McNeese and UNO are good.

And went 11-2 in their other 13 midweek in-state games.

Oh, well if they're good, then that's fine. God forbid we should expect to beat a team that is good.

Did I say it was fine or that I don't expect to win those games?

Yes, sell your season tickets while you can. Get as far away from LSU as you can. It's all going down in flames.

The good SEC baseball teams have all lost 3-4-5 games already. LSU lost 4 midweek games in 2016 and still got a national seed. And this year's non-conference schedule is much more challenging than in recent years.

It's like people don't even watch or know anything about baseball but just pop in to bitch and cry because LSU can't go 31-0 to start the season

Sideline baseball fans are the worst

Or maybe some people watch a lot of baseball, especially LSU baseball over the last 7 years, and see a lot of similarities with this team with others in the past that failed to make a run in Omaha.

So are the "that's baseaball" folks that simply shrug their shoulders as Mainieri blows another post season series at the Box.

Not worried.

Every year great teams go through lull's, have trouble hitting with RISP (see the past 4 games), and look sloppy mentally. It's how soon they can turn it around and then you'll start to see all the breaks go LSU's way.

With Lange, Poche, and Walker I'm not worried; heck SEC play hasn't even started.

1) I still think the batting order needs to be tweaked.
2) Papierski is really struggling right now at the plate which is hard to watch given his defensive talent.
3) LF needs to be figured out, it's great platooning but there needs to be a reliable starter so that respective player can get any kind of rhythm which isn't happening right now.

Your grammar is what's horrible. Mainieri is not perfect, but anyone who actually refers to him as "horrible" should have their posting privileges revoked, at least in regards to all things baseball

As long as PM is head coach, the answer is yes!! He's horrible and has been for years! Past time to get rid of him.

Yeah, you're right. That .716 winning percentage and yearly trips to the postseason suck. 9 and 4 record 3 weeks into the season is unacceptable. He should be fired before the start of this weekends series.

While we're at it, we should fire Orgeron before spring practice starts. It's not very likely that we go undefeated next year and that just isn't acceptable, right lawingnutz.

shite, we should can D-D Breaux and Beth Torina as well. Neither one of them have ever gone undefeated or won national championships either. Torina's winning percentage of .698 and Breaux's percentage of .621 just flat ain't good enough.

Get rid of them all. Jones can lead the march out of Baton Rouge. All of us on the rant are winners and champions and we are going to demand that our coaches live up to our lofty standards.

The rant is right there with ya lawingnutz!

This reads just like a Les Miles apologist wrote it about him two seasons ago.

No.

CPM is toying with the roster before conference play.

As a former baseball player, I remember pitching mid-week games and lost and remember thinking to myself if I had all the starters playing, I would have better defense and more runs behind me (this was high school). I pitched middle relief in college, and there were similar scenarios early in the season.

To make a long story short, it's early.

If we're as good as I think we are, the players and coaches will make adjustments and will continue to improve.

This is a stupid conversation. The only thing that matters in college baseball is your chances of winning a friday amd Saturday game. They are pretty high with this team. Just win Friday and Saturday and you are hosting a national seed.

All teams pitch their best "starters" on the weekends. Bullpen you are right! So that's kinda a big excuse!

As far as position players being the same. The said part is that's true!
