Correct. And neither is Skylar.

We don't have a point and we desperately need one.

AGreed but I'd much rather see Mays handle the ball against pressure.

What?! Mays is a turnover machine and for someone who’s pre-med, he makes some of the dumbest decisions I’ve ever seen

Smart and Mays are who we have. Smart was basically a scoring guy in high school and is having to learn being more of a point guard guard out of need.

However, since SEC play has started, he is averaging 14 ppg and 2 turnovers per game while nearly playing the whole game. He has only been under double digits in points one time since SEC play started. Today he had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 turnovers. Mays had 10 points and 3 turnovers as well. Watford was the MVP, but he had 5 turnovers. People are acting like Smart is averaging 10 turnovers per game. Although he is not Waters, LSU is 6-0 in the SEC and on an 8-game winning streak. Not bad.

Agreed, he's not a true point.
True, he doesn't attack like Waters did.
What, pray tell, would you have WW do?
That was what? 7 wins in a row, 8 in a row?
I'm good with the lineup.
Geaux Tigers!

I realize that it's so important to jerks like you and others in this stream that LSU wins every game it ever plays by comfortable margins, but why do you people feel it's necessary to criticize players on the Internet?

Maybe he doesn't even want to play point but there's no other choices, dumbass.

Smart also takes some very bad shots without running the offense first. Just as bad as a turnover really.

We have some of the dumbest basketball fans. For two years Waters was the problem. Now its Mayes.
Tell Wade he shouldn't be putting the ball in Mayes hands at crunch time. He might make a dumb decision.
Without Mays, this team would have a losing record and a loss to Ky last season.

Yes, he may have had “officially” 3 turnovers but how many poor decisions led to Texas comeback. The poor shooting. The bad passes to covered teammates vs opened ones. Not running time off clock. There are so many things you can see that he just isn’t smart with the basketball with a lead or a close game

We are a completely diff team this year. Much better at getting good two point shots when we don’t turn it over. Horrid three pt shooting team. Still a great offensive rebounding team and shot great free throws. Very gritty team WW knows hoe to adapt to his roster. Get Manning back we could win the league again. And last but not least the league is horrible this year so we don’t have to be as good to win it.

Skylar is a point guard. He can break a press and our offense runs so much smoother with him running it. Unfortunately it makes it nearly impossible to get him any rest in the game. I did see that Wade tried to rest him a bit in the 2and half, but the lead went from 12 to 8 real quick so Wade put him back in.
