What jumps out about these stats is how underrated Ron Brooks is/ was.
I always liked him, but his stats are up there near Trindons...

Ron Brooks on KR and Chad Jones on PR are pretty darn stellar seconds to have.

Blocked punts are scored that way as well.

Fun Fact: Slade Nagle’s McNeese Cowboys were up 24-10 on Texas A&M and then this mother fricker proceeded to throw 4 interceptions in a quarter and a half to lose.

Yes, absolutely. Same offensive line. A QB who has been in this system 3 years with a few starts and games in relief. A WR Core who has experience and quite a few 4/5 stars. There is no reason Nuss shouldn't ball out this year.

Here's hoping he knows what a punt return is.

Not sure I understand why people do some much handwringing about our punt returns last year

Two straight years we’ve opened the year with muffed punts that have arguably cost us the win or a chance to win at least. this took a chance from the best offense in the country and gave another drive to the worst defense in the country

BK and staff looked at that and said never again, and we basically just said we will take the ball as a GTD over the advantage of gaining more yards in a PR, bc it’s simply not worth the risk.

It was simply good coaching to that the air out of the ball on punt returns. Ensure the best player on the team isn’t screwed out of a drive and likely coming back to an even bigger deficit or smaller lead if they did.

The offense will certainly be less good than it was last year, that same risk/reward is a much different calculation.
