He was an early adopter of Ken Ravizza's approach to the mental side of athletic competition (he co-authored a fantastic book titled Heads Up Baseball). Saban also employed Ravizza's teachings. It's where he picked up on "The Process".

Now that Ravizza has passed, the next best is Brian Cain, one of Ravizza's students.
