if Skip takes that kind of conversation and decides to tell the media that Hill is gone in his opinion, then shame on The Skipper.
But Skip was asked a question and he has never been known to be a "no comment" type of person.

Other than upsetting a bunch of message board addicts, what harm did he do by voicing his opinion?
It gives the appearance to most that he is speaking from a position of either authority or inside info. He's not in any position to do either.
quote:
Either it's his opinion, which he is entitled to and has certainly earned, or it's Miles' way of putting it out there, which I doubt.
He can have his opinion...but when asked he should have enough sense to keep it to himself because putting it out there is needless aggravation for LSU.

My best guess is Skip has had conversations with Miles who has made it clear Hill is gone if his probation is revoked, Skip think's Hill's probation will be revoked based on his conversations with DA Hillar Moore who is a personal friend of the Bertmans, so he has formed an opinion that Hill is gone.
all of that may be 100% true, and all of it is the exact reason I'd like to think Skip would be smart enough to keep it to himself if asked.
Can you imagine how pissed Skip would have been if during some issue with his ball club a former AD at LSU was going around telling the press what he thought was going to happen with one of his players? It's just terrible form if he actually said something...and even worse if he said something he actually knows.

Coming from skip I doubt it's just an opinion.
Bertman shouldn't be commenting on it at all.
Speculating on the situation is out of line.
Commenting on the subject with knowledge of what is going to happen is even worse.

From what I remember going to bars in college, lack of getting a blowjob was a much more common precursor to assaulting someone.

Exactly. The amount of mental gymnastics going on to justify Skip's comments should tell you what side logic falls on.

because putting it out there is needless aggravation for LSU.

She was 14 years old. One year removed from being in middle school. If tht was your daughter, would you still feel the same as you do now?

If she were giving out blowjobs I'd be more pissed at her than him

to justify Skip's comments
The man was asked a question and he gave his opinion based on the information he has.
People on this board get their panties in a wad over the silliest of things.

He should not have done it. It was way out of line. And, Miles has every reason to be very upset about it.

Hill's charge was reduced to a misdemeanor because of his 'hero' football status. Any other 18 year old would probably already have been incarcerated.

It got reduced to a misdemeanor because that's not what happened. The story was exaggerated at first. Not uncommon

I think that's the point. The only way Bertman would know what would happen is if the legal process didn't influence the decision. And if that was the case, there'd be no need to keep Hill anymore

woah woah, when did this happen? Pretty sure it was made known that is was consensual.
