Since the topic of Coach O being a good coach won't go away, I'll throw in my 2 cents

Friend of mine asked me today asked if I changed my mind and was a believer in Coach O now.
I told him not yet.
Florida was a nice W on the road, but they are terrible and may not win another game this year.
Auburn was great a comeback win, but doesn't mean I think he will be a great coach.
So then he asked me what it's going to take.
I said, winning out besides Bama this year and finishing 10-3. A top 10 recruiting class and then winning 10 regular season games next year.
I told him I believe O has earned the chance to do that and I'm off his back for now compared to where he was, but that for me to believe that he is actually a good coach, that is what is will take to change my mind.
Hope he proves me wrong!!

Good thing is the team did not tank it either last year when Miles got fired or this year after the Troy disaster.
Too early to tell how this plays out. Are there better coaches - no doubt but Orgeron is who we have now and for the foreseeable future.

Who are you to lay out these expectations?

I'm not trying to be a dick but, your measures of success aren't realistic.

I haven't made a decision on O yet - but damn, with these standards there aren't very many "good" coaches in the country

I'm honestly curious what you're expectations would've been if Herman had been hired.

Why are your expectations so low ?

10 wins?

Hell we had that for over a decade and 134 wins. Let that Coach go because 10 wins is not good enough.

Here's a refresher -
2005 11-2
2006 11-2
2007 12-2
2010 11-2
2011 13-1
2012 10-3
2013 10-3
2015 10-3 (McNeese included although cancelled)

Why is 10 wins good enough NOW?
Weren't we upgrading?

I think they are for a good to great coach
If we are ok with mediocre then we should have just kept Miles.
So when someone asked me when I believe he is a good coach then that is what I expect

Really?!?!
Miles was very mediocre over the past 3 years which is why he was fired.
I was one of his biggest fans, but even I can remember that.

But you said 10'wins?

Top 10 recruiting classes .

Is that not what you said?
Is that not what he did ?

Mediocre?

I definitely think Miles did great things for a period of time.
He had an awesome run.
But that ended with being too stubborn to fire his good friend and change his offensive scheme.
Sorry that's just the way it is
I loved everything else about Miles

ETA: I do consider Miles to be a very good coach, but it was time for a change
But not to a coach who had 3 SEC wins and no other job offers
If he proves me wrong then great!
But to say I'm still skeptical would be an understatement

Dude , numbers don't lie.

You set your standards in your OP and Miles exceeded or met them throughout and you call that mediocre .

And now you have similar standards for Edward Orgeron?

Explain how that works logically?

I said "10 regular season" wins

Please tell me last time Miles did that?
Thanks

Do you need to look it up?
It was 2012
I'll save you some time
The last year we had a chance to win anything

Ah okay ...hahahhaha

Gotcha man.

So your raised expectations for Edward Orgeron are 10 regular season wins ? And top 3 recruiting classes ?

Because this needs to be an upgrade .

With the last Coach we were in the title hunt til November. With this Coach we don't make it out of September.
