The best part of your post is thinking BOTH LSU and BYU even make it that far........

why should the entire tournament accommodate them?
Because Mormons watch BYU on tv. They have a national following. All about ratings/money.

its incredible the committee was so stupid they couldn't avoid this by doing the easy thing which was just put them in another regional

Isn’t the first time the NCAA did this. Fortunately last time, BYU didn’t make it that far. Probably won’t this time either.

LSU beat BYU in Boise the last year of Shaq.

That's funny. I have never heard of a Mormon extremist beheading someone. But I quit watching the news a long time ago

The Mountain Meadows Massacre was a series of attacks which resulted in the mass murder of 120 members of the Baker–Fancher emigrant wagon train. The massacre occurred September 7–11, 1857 at Mountain Meadows in southern Utah, and was perpetrated by Mormon settlers belonging to the Utah Territorial Militia (officially called the Nauvoo Legion), together with some Southern Paiute Native Americans.
I saw a pretty good movie about it.

Why not just put them in the Thu/Sat bracket?
There isn’t a Thursday/Saturday this year. It’s Friday/Sunday and Saturday/Monday.

Faithfully practicing Mormon here.. I actually live 20 minutes from BYU's campus. We hold season tix in the Skyline club at Tiger Stadium and travel back to games each year.
Just wanted to chime in and clarify a few things as I see my faith can be a punching bag at times haha.
1. Mormons are Christian (the church is called 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints') Mormon is just a nickname.
2. I have one wife. So does every other Mormon on the planet. That's a sterotype and gets confused with an offshoot branch of the actual Mormon church that started in the 1800's.
Just wanted to clear those up:) I'm glad the NCAA is accommodating BYU. They have accommodated other schools with similar statutes. We should respect all faiths and people.
FWIW I think BYU gets bounced in the first round by Michigan State so this won't even be a thing.
Here's to hoping we get the gumps in the elite 8. Frick those guys.

It's a made up religion anyway.
God didn't go to Missouri and talk to some idiot. The idiot basically stole the Muslim religion and created a non-violent Muslim religion with magic underwear.
Both encourage multiple wives in order to take over the world by populating it, no alcohol, etc, etc, etc
I have no idea if you're religious or not but if you are.. Should you REALLY be making fun of others beliefs?
I'm not religious but grew up catholic. EVERY religion has some shite that can be made fun of.

Good then you as non believer have nothing to worry about

Quality post. Mormons are Christians and they actually act like they believe what they say they believe(unlike many mainstream Christians) so I can respect that. LDS people are some of the best and even in ways some of the most open minded and accepting people one could hope to meet. Cheers brother (no alcohol of course), haha.

That is the truth. We always have a March Madness bracket in our office. Years ago BYU had a really good team. I had them going very far if not all the way in my bracket.
The morning of the tournament I get the news that BYU kicked their best player off the team.
My Mormon/BYY buddy comes into my office. He wasn't upset or disappointed at all. I was more upset than him.
I was like WTHeck? He looked at me and said the guy had sex with his girlfriend. So then I was like SERIOUSLY WTF? He said the player signed papers regarding rules of conduct and having sex violated them.
Not very many teams would kick their best player off the team the night before the tournament

Oh no, I know a lot about Mormons. We have a dept bracket that my bud is in. Then we have a company bracket that you have to pay to play.
Mormons can't drink alcohol OR gamble. And they don't cheat on the rules like all other religions do. The guy drinks water at lunch most every day. Sometimes with lemon and lemonade every once in a while. They can't do soda or caffeine either.

My friends parents can see the football stadium from where they live. They look down at the campus from a mountain. He went there during the winter a few years ago. Said after the hot tub you grabbed your towel and went inside to dry off. If not the towel would freeze while drying.
