Since Chaisson is missing games, does he go pro?

Thoughts? Sure would be nice to have him back next year.

ETA: We definitely seem 50/50 on this - I think he should/will stay.

He's coming back just like Fournette did.

LF7 didn't miss an entire season before the season he left.

as to the OP, if he misses Northwestern State and Vanderbilt, and plays the rest he is gone if he has a good season.

He also had a lot higher draft stock. Much higher.

Fournette already piled up stats and highlights at LSU. Chaisson's basically a "potentially elite" player. That's not a knock on him, he's just had some unfortunate injury issues. I honestly think his decision could go either way if he isn't able to have an impact season this year with going pro being most likely.

If he plays against our top opponents he'll have all the exposure and game film he needs to be drafted highly.

Now, if he plays poorly and is hurt, then our chances are higher. I don't expect that though.

The only way he comes back is if he misses like half the season or more.

Me thinks he's playing the Clowney game. He gone.

He’s going pro for sure. But he needs a lot more film than just getting dominated by Texas.

Why would any team want to draft him until he proves he can stay on the field for a full season?

I wouldn't be surprised. He would be going strictly off his measurables and how well he test at the combine. 5 career sacks and he barely has any meaningful film.

Chaisson doesn’t have enough film to play this game. Yes he would still get drafted on potential and probably in 2-3 round. If he wants to be a first rounder he has to put that potential on film.

He didn't get dominated. He was constantly held, and he still had 5 tackles, 5 hurries, and a sack. Plus, Cosmi is really good.

one on one it's still not a good look...nfl tackles are better and bigger than the Texas tackle. We have only really seen him play 2 good teams in his college career.

No, but he could go to the combine and light it up. The combine workouts carry much more weight than the college career.

He's not even getting drafted if he doesn't get on the field. That would be 2 seasons away from the game, with 2-3 mediocre games. He showed a lot of potential his first season, but so far hasn't lived up to that potential on the field.

I’m sure the scouts will consider that exception....
