So stupid...
You realize Simmons had less than 12 shot attempts per game at LSU? You're acting like he was out there shooting 20 shots a game. He didn't. 12 shot attempts and averaged over 19ppg. And unselfish concepts? Simmons already is an unselfish player and would fit in better with a system that allows him to do that.
He might not have averaged 20ppg and 12 Rebs per game at Duke, but it's not like he would have averaged 10ppg and 4 Rebs there. Probably would be at like 16ppg and still be a great rebounder with like 8-9 a game. And his assists would have increased at Duke as well becasue of all the talent there that you mention.
16ppg, 8.5rebs, and more than 6 assists per game is still a ridiculous stat line. And you would really be able to appreciate Sinmons game and the things he can do with the ball because he has better players around him. Some of Simmons best plays of the year were when he was in the open court or driving and creating for his teammates and make a great pass to the open player, but they would miss the shot a lot of the times. They would have made a lot more of those at Duke.
Simmons would have a bigger impact with better players around him due to his unselfish nature. Fact. If you don't think he would thrive on a team with quality players like Duke, then you are just ignorant and don't really understand basketball.

If Brandon Ingram would have gone to LSU instead of Ben Simmons, LSU would have lost even more games.

Terrible thread. Just awful. If anything, he'd average more assists per game, but in reality coach K would actually teach Simmons how to take over. He consistently has had players who take over games. That's no coincidence.

I watched every game. You are completely and utterly false.

man I have seen stupid this stupid since Forrest Trump

Simmons would've benefited from playing under K who would've used his diverse skill set in unison with Allen and Ingram...PnR all day as either the ball handler or screener ... his stats would've suffered, but his assists and rebounds would've been through the roof.
I love LSU, but JJ coaching Simmons was like slapping a governor on a Ferrari.

I HATE THESE FAKE BASKETBALL FANS. You weren't around when we sucked. Step away from the keyboard. You obviously don't have even the slightest of clue about basketball much less college basketball.
It's just sad how stupid you guys make our fan base look. ALL of us touted him as greatest player since lebron. He put up big numbers that didn't translate to wins and now you think he wouldn't even start for another top 25 team. Just sad man.

If Simmons went to Duke he would have had an elite PG, PF, and C playing with him. He would have averaged 15-10-8 and there would be no question as to who the best college basketball player is, even from morons like you.

You people are sure expending a lot of time and energy trying to convince a "moron" that he's wrong.
It's just a conversation about sports.
No need for all the vitriol. Don't kick your Dogs/wives/Gf's/BF's over it.

In short Ben ultimately made a good business decision coming here
He would have been the #1 pick in the upcoming draft if he had gone to Nicholls with a similar with no post season result. I call that a neutral business decision.

In one sense I agree. I think it was best for him to go to a school who had a coach that wouldn't try to fit him into their system.
However, he came to a school with a coach that didn't know how to use him properly.

Said everything that needs to be said on the subject. Ben Simmons is an all time great. The team was a letdown, he was not. With the right coach and a better team he would have been a force to be reckoned with.
