My only real beef is with aOSU. I think that his logic concerning sanctions is flawed. Yes, Miami and Alabama were able to return to national championship status within a decade, but neither team did so with the coach that was hired immediately after the sanctions took effect. aOSU will return to being a top 5 coaching destination in a few years.

Auburn in the top 10? I don't care if they win another title in the next five years, dealing with one of the perennial top programs of all-time in the same state automatically places Auburn far lower in my book.
I agree with both UF and UGA above us. UGA simply because they have a state twice our size and they're basically the lone program even though they get significantly more heat from big name schools going into the state than LSU does.

Butch Davis built the 2000-2001 Miami teams. He was the one who guided Miami through the sanctions.

Granted. However, I'm not sure that proud OSU fans would be as patient as Miami fans. Alabama seems to be a somewhat more appropriate comparison.

All of the people who perennially complain that we wouldn't be able to lure another quality head coach to Baton Rouge if Miles departed/retired/was fired, please closely heed this list and its inherent lesson:
LSU IS A VERY DESIRABLE DESTINATION FOR A HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

Gotta love the choice of photo for LSU. Maybe my favorite play of all time.

Kind of surprised USC was as low as they are
USC has to compete with UCLA which is near Bel-Air and Beverly Hills. UCLA has a great athletic tradition in all major sports, oustanding campus, beautiful women, great academics, and Westwood which is an awesome college town. The only disadvantages for UCLA are poor coaching hires and readily accessible "medicinal" marijuana stores right next to campus. A great coach/recruiter can come in and overtake USC.

Little surprised Georgia is above us and Bama simply for the MNC factor
Georgia is normally right behind the big 3(FL,TX,CA) for most fertile recruiting grounds and most GA kids grow up wanting to be Bulldogs; not Yellowjackets.
Bama is top 3 in football tradition. Everyone in the nation knew the Crimson Tide even when they sucked. I say Bama and LSU is a push only b/c Bama has to compete with Auburn.

However, I'm biased against cold weather and I would never "like" to coach at OSU or ND
I prefer the colder weather and earthquakes here in Japan over the hot humid weather and hurricanes/tornadoes back in Mississippi. The only place that has "perfect" weather would be the Southwest.

Miami belongs on the list simply for the talent bed they sit in. Has any school produced more NFL players than Miami over the past 30 years?

Pretty surprised by Penn State's absence from the list.

What I don't understand is how the University of Texas can finish any worse than in the top 10 every year. 5-7? How can you screw this up? They get the pick of the litter in state that is swimming in talent.
