This is one they got right. Another was waiving off the pass interference.

That call was total sh*t as well. How is it that when Mcelroy throws a pass 4 yards out of bounds we still get called for pass interference but when Lee does it they waive the flag?

A personal foul.

Regardless of the rules concerning a facemask post a dead ball foul, considering the whistle did not blow until the receiver caught the ball to determine the first down, one can hardly say 'they got this one right'.

Awesome, this is my favorite...."The play isn't over until the whistle blows".

I don't remember the play with Mcelroy, but if it happened as you say here, that's the call that was missed, not the one where they waived it off. Waiving off the flag on the Lee pass was absolutely the correct thing to do.

I know this may sound stupid but isnt a penalty a penalty regardless. What say the bama defender rips the lsu's recievers helmet off and throws it into the stands. Is there no penalty because the play was called dead at the line, so technically there was never a play that took place?

Well, once he tosses the helmet in the stands, you then have a dead ball unsportsmanlike foul.

You somehow think this is the same as a normal facemask violation?

IIRC, it's 9-2-1. You should read it

No i dont but the fact a play took place, a penalty occured during the play, and then come back and say that there was no penalty because the play never took place is bullshite to me .

I'm certain we will, since our association got 12 games - it's just a matter of where. I have a few preferences, but we'll see how that goes...

It's kinda nice because the furthest one we got was Gueydan - they have started to kinda regionalize the first couple of rounds to cut down on travel. N. La. is a long way.

You got something?

Congrats.

I missed the entire year due to surgery. Sucks, but had to be done.

Do high school playoff games get awarded by crew? Is that the same in all states, or are some by individual? Just curious.

Thanks. I consider it a successful season if I get two rounds, anything past that is gravy.

That sucks - am I too nosy if I ask what you had to get done?

You've already declared yourself a moron in various threads, but really, did we need further confirmation? The point that you seem to miss is the refs did not attempt to stop the play until the receiver caught the ball. A whistle that late for a 'false start' is a problem, to say the least.

It depends - from state to state and from association to association.

I can only speak for our association but generally speaking for the first couple of rounds if a crew has worked together for most of the season they will likely work together for the first and possibly the second round, beyond that crews typically start to get split up.
