Lsu football players with strange quirks over the years. Loved or hated .

Who was it who fell down on purpose on fair catches?

Arandas defenses inability to get lined up in time for the ball to be snapped.

Year in and year out. Regardless of the players

Was this really a thing? Our defenses were always pretty disciplined under Aranda.

Was always fun seeing Russell Gage run 500 yards in motion.

James Wright catching every pass on his knees is like Tas hitting all those jumpers with a foot on the 3pt line

Nick Brosette being the most unimpressive looking decent RB that I've ever laid eyes on.

Everything he did looked like he was moving in slow motion but somehow he ran for 1,000 yards and was decently effective as a runner.

Yeah, y'all never noticed our guys running around pointing at each other when the balls snapped?

I mean, in the documentary, one for the ages, one of our coaches is telling the players on the sidelines, if you get lined up, they can't beat y'all, so it was a thing in that game against Clemson. Against someone last year, the color guy on TV was talking about it too. Could have been in the peach bowl.
It happened against bama this year.
It happened twice off the top of my head against bama last year.

There's instances of coach o talking about it in two different press conferences his 1st year that I found.

It happened a lot. The guys knew where to go, but for some reason, under aranda, who may be in the top 3 for Lsu d coordinators all time,
They just didn't get the play called in fast enough, alot.

Ill just say this, it happened with us, more then I've ever noticed with other teams .

One more example, I remember chiz talking about it at halftime of a game, 2 times in one year.

a prime example is the Kary Vincent pick against Oklahoma (I think). KV had no idea where he was supposed to be and Delpit tells him at the last second. KV wasn't even lines up at the snap but that was probably fortunate because it allowed him to not bite on the fake and to go get the ball.

so true

Forgot who it was against but one jet sweep he was gassed at the end and didn’t score.
I always thought if he didn’t run 100 yards back and forth pre snap he would’ve scored

Yeah, I didn't remember that, but it fits what I'm saying.

Just went back and looked at some games through the last three or so years.

It absolutely 100percent was a thing. I mean all you got to do is go look on you tube.
Our opponents in those games were completely different and we're always lined up in time for the snap. We werent ready to play and in position pee snap, about 25 percent of the time, vs less then 5 percent of the time for our opponents.

I'd like to know why, they knew where to go, but they were late getting there. Could be on the coach.

We will see if it's an aranda thing or not.

To be clear, the players knew where to go, but maybe they needed to communicate some with each other on who's got who or what zone, and didn't get the call in time.. Hell our offense did it too, most notably against Clemson. Results in -5 yards though,on D it may be 6 points.
Really liked aranda though
