re: Show your level of delusion - what did you expect in yr 1 for BK? Even Saban went 7-6!?!

Saban at LSU started 8-4 with a bowl win and took over a much worse situation than Kelly has. But while saying that I think we are expecting to much in year one from him. This program will be fine in a couple years.

I thought we would beat FSU, but only split AU and Miss. State. I thought UT was a loss. I think we will beat UAB for a sure fifth win. I say we find a way to win two others...LSU has to win one of the next two: @UF and home to UM and then again win one road game at A&M or Arky. 7-5 would be solid with this roster.

Its not the year 1 question, its his trend of decision making. Hires Polian and Denbrock. Actively searches for a run 1st QB in the portal.

This aint Big 10 football.

The concern is that he and Les Miles digested the same football meals from the Big 10, and not ordering the hot and spicy SEC entrees

7-5, 8-4 before the season started, Tigers don’t have the depth yet in the trenches to compete with the top teams of the SEC.

Back when I was watching our WR start at QB against Kansas St, I thought to myself 7 wins max if we get a good coach and a 2 year rebuild.

Admittedly, I was starting to hope for 8 or 9 after beating Mississippi St

Actually I had no expectations because of the new coaching staff and players brought in. Too many moving parts to decide how they would mesh together.

I didn’t have high expectations but what Saban inherited to what Kelly inherited is apples and oranges. Yesterday was a poop show in every area of the game, from play calling to special teams to scheme to in game decisions… Paying a guy 10 mil a year to field that team yesterday was an embarrassment in all fronts.

I expected to be creative on Offense and elite on D.

We’re ok on defense but dog shite on O.

I expected some really good play from our defense and an improving offense as the season went on.
I expected LSU would play a lot of very close games and win more of those than they lost.
I expected our kicker to be a decider in several games, both ways.
I expected an offense that was creative that got the ball to our playmakers of which we had plenty.
I expected to be competitive in every game except maybe Alabama.
I expected anywhere from 8-4 best case to 6-6 worst case depending on our kickers success.
I was very much wrong on nearly everything especially on our offense and defense improving as the season wore on.
I don't think we are on a good track for this year or the near future....and I hope I'm very much wrong on that also.

8-4 maybe 9-3.
Saban came in after a 2-9 season and a program in shambles. He lost to UAB. Florida auburn and ark. Beating tennessee and bama( a bad bama team.)
If Kelly can get to 8-4 and a bowl win that’s a win.

I know that it is a rebuilding year intellectually, but when the game starts I want to win every game and will bitch, piss, and Moan when we do not win or play well.

All you Delu-Tigers expecting a double digit win season in year 1 for BK truly amaze me….after this team was put together with duck tape and the transfer portal. Even Saban went 7-6 in his 1st yr and had an embarrassing loss to ULM. Putting together a TEAM takes time. What did you expect?!?

I expected to see a game plan played out!
I expected to see some kind of a run game established!
I expected to see improvement in the program in coaching small things! Like how to catch a ducking punt or kick off, or special teams
I expected to see team unity and not this bullshite around Kayshoun Boutte

How much NIL money does the football program have? Do we compete with the nest teams in the country, financially?
This factors in....bigtime.

Why?!?

Because the situation Saban inherited isn't equivalent to the situation Kelly inherited. This program is a completely different animal. The landscape of college football and the SEC is completely different.

The point is that even the guy who many consider the GOAT struggled in year 1

It's a dumb point. Kelly struggling in itself shouldn't be alarming on its own for many material reasons. They have nothing to do with Saban.

It’s not 1985, teams are rebuilt in one year through the portal. Doesn’t mean anybody thought we were winning the SEC this year because nobody did but we’ve been a poorly coached team and that’s why people are upset.
