My understanding is there were some LSU fans there one day and asked them to put the game on. They did and the guys that were there started calling other LSU fans to come watch. Started doing it for every LSU game and the crowds got bigger and bigger until it officially became the spot to go watch LSU games and you know how LSU fans drink and party. No brainer for them.

Can confirm the place is home away from home. Was there one year and sat down next to a girl from Ville Platte. In a bar in NYC. That’s some cray shite.

Did you make it to Adrienne's pizza while in downtown NYC? Best on the planet.

Sounds like complete bullshite. Blondie’s on the upper east side packed in LSU fans before Legends became a thing. Brother Jimmy’s before Blondie’s.

It’s a great crowd, but it has more to do with the LSU alumni association deeming it the official bar, and not just because some tiger fans asked to put the game on.

Turtle Bay on 2d ave was the bar before Legends.....they had a change of management hostile to LSU and the alums moved to Legends at the end of the 2009 season

Turtle Bay must have been after Blondie’s and before Legends.

(Blondies was around 2003-2005)

GF and I will be in NYC during the Peach Bowl.

Any recs on what the viewing experience will be is greatly appreciated.

How early to arrive to assure a seat?

Will it be ridiculously crowded to the point of long waits for drinks?

TIA

This unequivocally false. Turtle bay in 2nd Ave was the previous bar and their management went sideways with us in 2009 (South Carolina game) when they turned off the sound of the game in order for a DJ to play for a bus full of guidos. We decided we’d never go back, Legends had just opened and since it was mid-season did not have a school they were associated. Legends then became the official watch party location for the LSUNY Alumni Association and has remained as such. It has been a great partnership and they take great care of us.

Anyone know why they changed from Blondies to Turtle Bay back in the day?

Get there 2 hours early and start tailgating. One owners daughter is LSU grad and I think tends smaller bar upstairs. Not a bad seat in house though. Ask bouncer if it is okay to put cigarette out in tiger on sidewalk. ??

Saints play on Monday. Best spot is Bar None near Union square.

It's a fantastic time. Get there an hour or two early to get a spot in the back room

I dont get out much. You telling me there is a dedicated gameday LSU bar in the middle of Manhattan?

I believe it but that's crazy to me.

Not only that, but it's 3 stories and you have to get there hours early to get a decent spot for a big game. It's an absolute blast

Saints have a dedicated spot too. Makes a big city a little smaller
