I say yes we should give Raymond a shot if we look the same after 5 or 6 games and we’re 1-5. We won’t have anything to lose at that point.

I hope they have already internally stripped Pelini of any true decision making.

No doubt about it. If we continue to be the worst defense in the nation as we statistically are that today, then you must stop the bleeding because the next two games are against mediocre offenses. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much aware that South Carolina's and Auburn's offenses are both better than MSU and Missouri but if we haven't made enough improvements on defense to beat USC east and at least give Auburn a game, then its time to cut bait, promote Raymond and see what he can do. If he turns the defense around then he's our man , if he doesn't get someone other than Coach Oeaux to pick out a DC because if you follow up a bad year with a Mediocre year, Oeaux is definitely on the hot seat. Remember Chizik was out , done, nada, 2 years after Cam Newton and the MNC. Why is Oeaux in any better shape.

The worry would be what if he sucks and we go shopping for a new DC in the off-season does he bounce? The only knock on why he isn’t getting DC offers is he has never called plays but after half a season of even decent play calling open the door to him bouncing.

No truer words have been spoken. One NC and we are officially entitled Alabama fans.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Lets just play out the remaining 7 games and determine where things stand. Instead of reacting to every other SEC game and which defense or offense does what and annointing another retread coordinator as brilliant lets watch the development of each unit as they replace 18 starters from a national title team. You can expect each unit to improve. The offense shows great promise and even if the defense only improves slightly the continued development of the offense may be enough to win most games in a shootout. At the end of the season the program can be assessed along with the financial situation of the athletic department.

The estrogen levels run high in LSU fans. They make decisions only on emotions. Too much Soy I suppose.

it is pretty bad here lately. the lack of understanding this is an unprecedented situation with covid19/blm SJW stuff, shortsightedness, other teams struggling also in similar areas, lack of awareness we lost over 30 players total, etc is astounding. the people here after 2 losses calling for O, linehan and pellini to be fired now are crazy. The clowns saying " i warbed u about O" blah blha blah are the worst. after proving himself and coming off a natty! LOL. O fixed an issue before and he will again whatever path that may take. It is in LSU's best interest for things to work out in this rebuiling year and nobody get fired. this is a low revenue year also they are completely oblivious to.

buyout this guy! buyout that guy!

let's just get better so we do not have to do any of that.

Corey Raymond needs to focus on coaching up his DB’s. They have been the biggest issue in an atrocious defense.

Just my opinion but if things aren't drastically changed this week with the defense Pelini he needs to be fired or it should cost his job at the end of the year. But this is a dream and will never happen.

At the very least he gets one more year and then it should cost him his job.

Based upon how well his DB's are playing? He needs to focus on improving them right now.

I guess if the solution to Les Miles offensive misery was always sitting there as a useless te coach, seems very reasonable the answer to our defensive woes has been sitting there as a db coach all this time (sarcasm)

no, we need a top 5 dc, not a guy who at best is 40 to 80 ranked but most likely not in top 100.

the stupidity of our fans is so annoying.

None of us expected to win back to back.. but to go from having as many elite defenses as we've had in the last 20 years, to having a defense that the marching band could score on... is *disturbing*

I've been watching since the mid 90s. I don't think I've ever seen a defense this bad.

Why would we do that when we could have promoted him last year?

Pelini is not the answer, but I don't think you swing the other way and promote Raymond.

Well I think last year they also thought Pelini would be a good hire.

I don't think there's any way Corey Raymond could be worse.

I'd hope the standard for the next hire is more than 'it couldn't be any worse.'
