He’s better defensively and currently better at the plate. Batting .455 in limited tries. 11 total I believe. Still much improved from his past… well…so far!

He definitely deserves a few starts… if he keeps swinging a good bat he needs to play more

It’s not a bad question

Who'd have thought this would be a legitimate thread 3 weeks ago.

With that said, I'd still roll with Neal, but I'd give Milazzo sporadic starts on weekdays and sundays in addition to his usual late inning subs. Keeps Neal fresh and keeps Milazzo engaged.

let him start the midweek and get multiple ab’s. If he keeps delivering he can be a late game sub next weeknd

Giant sample size of really good defense over the years. And bat is looking better this year so far

He needs to get some starts. They’re gonna run Neal into the ground at this rate

Yes he should start mid week this week. Maybe sitting a few games can help Neal like it has Jones.

I’d let him start midweek games and then put Neal in about the 5th to stay prepped for the weekend. Then sub Milazzo in the weekend series if the game is out of hand or Neal is just sucking.

Neal had an on base steak of 9 straight games coming into today. He has one of the best eyes on the team. There is nothing wrong with him to fix

Don’t think so. Great depth player just like beloso. But, coach hasn’t been shy with how he’s giving ABs. Starters have seen about 35-50 ABs and backups are closer to 10-15. Obviously, these 10 run rule games have hurt how many ABs the other guys would have gotten.

It’s a great problem we have, easily a 6 man deep bench that would start for other programs.

So if he does, and Johnson chooses not to start him, what’s the reason?
A. He’s a bad evaluator of talent and Joe Fan knows more than him
B. He purposely is playing the less deserving player for whatever reason.

Which is it?

Batting .455
Milazzo is now an example of a somewhat statistical rarity in baseball.

His batting average, .455, is HIGHER than his on-base percentage, .417.

You don't see that very often.

In his case, it's because he has drawn no walks and has not been HBP but he has one sac fly which increases his plate appearances by one but with the same number of times getting on base via a hit.

You know damn well that if it was reversed you would be constantly beating your chest about Neal's small sample size.

Pretty much lol. The amount of people bitching about what we’ve seen so far is astounding.

I wouldn’t beat my chest over 16G’s with this schedule, much less 11 at bats.

Neal has done nothing to lose his job and consistently puts together professional at bats. He’s been good on defense, too. There isn’t much more to say
