First, yes Walker deserves retirement of his # if anyone does. Second, the history of this program is so damn rich, I could think of at least a dozen guys you could retire numbers. And that's just the '90s.

Kansas City Royals held a tryout at La Tech in '90 or '91. I was a tryout at it. So was Todd Walker. I knew nothing about him before then. He and one other guy came in wearing Bossier Phillies American Legion uniforms, and some of the other tryouts were saying "that's the guy they came to see". Todd was jacking the ball over the railroad tracks out back of right field so far that all of us tryouts competing against him started applauding him. He got MVP of the tryout, and the rest of us that just thought we were good at baseball came to a harsh realisation of another caliber of player than we'd personally seen to that point.

Was watching LSU the next season on TV and was like "THAT'S THAT GUY FROM THE TRYOUT!".

When consideration is given to honoring former LSU baseball players Todd Walker's name should be first on the list.

Athletes may also be considered for making dramatic impact on the popularity of his or her sport or for significant participation in positive change in LSU Athletics.

Growing up playing ball, everyone wanted #12. People didn't jockey for Canseco's number, or Mattingly's number, or Ripken's number. We all wanted Todd Walker's number.

he LSU policy is that you must graduate from LSU ( Pete being the only exception ). That is why Todd is not retired
walker graduated a long time ago, which is why he's already in the LSU HOF. Walker is the best player in LSU history. His number should have been retired years ago. All time leader in most offensive categories at LSU when his career ended. Still all time leader in quite a few.
