Retired to the Hall of Shame?
Posted on 3/26/16 at 9:10 am to GetmorewithLes
He has already retired it several times. Vs Alabama, vs Tennessee, vs Kentucky and vs Texas A&M
No need to retire it again.
Maybe a chalk drawing instead of a statue.

Did you honestly think this thread was a good idea?

I suppose anything is debatable.
No, you certainly do not retire Ben Simmons' jersey.
You would retire Vernel Singleton's jersey before retiring Ben's.

Its funny how the brain works to fill in gaps. Like when I saw the thread title had Ben and Retire jersey then my brain immediately misread it as McDonald not Simmons.
Then, feeling all smart, I went to grab a picture of his number already having been retired to post in this thread.
Then I actually read what you posted. Now I feel dumber than when I started out.

No! Leaving LSU after almost completely nearly one year does not equate to retiring a jersey.

No one is going to remember Ben went to LSU in ten years. He accomplished nothing so the answer is no.

I think all of your sports threads are terrible.

Should LSU retire Ben Simmons' jersey
Guessing this is a troll. That being said, I'm one of the biggest Simmons' defenders on this board and no, LSU should not even consider retiring his jersey.

No!!!!!!! Ben Simmons only played a year of college ball because NBA rules insisted. LSU was a forced pit stop on his way to the NBA.

Hell. Let's put him in the LSU Hall of Fame. Geez..

At this point, I'm pretty sure Ben wishes he hadn't have come to LSU, and a lot of Tiger fans arguably wish he wouldn't have come here either. The hype sputtered unto disaster. Who knew? You paint a target on a shitty team with a shitty coach and the wheels just sorta come off. Guess that's life

Having Ben hanging from the roof next to Maravich, Shaq, and Petit would be embarrassing.
Nothing against Ben as I think he will be a better pro because of the better coaching he will receive, but at LSU I wouldn't even put him on the same level of guys like Chris Jackson, Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Tyrus Thomas, and Big Baby Davis.
