Not ridiculous at all. There is little chance he leaves Alabama, but there is even less chance that Sexton doesn't use an LSU offer to extort Bama for more money. If we can force them to pay 2 million more and get nothing in return, why not? The correct play is to back-channel a 10 million/year offer to Sexton and then sit back and let him do his job. The only possible results are positive for LSU and negative for Bama.

Exactly this. You offer Saban 10 million a year. You don't expect him to take it but you force Alabama to have less money for assistants, facilities etc. Worst case scenario Alabama is in a worse position than they were before.

Best case scenario? You just flipped the college football world on its head by stealing one of the best coaches in the history of the game from your biggest rival.

It would be horribly irresponsible to NOT offer him.

Its been reported in the last day or two that Alabama HC Nick Saban is among the coaches on the LSU wishlist. We all know that Nick Saban is not very popular among the citizens of Louisiana. If LSU were to hire Saban back, there would probably be a big revolt among LSU fans. However, I have seen some crazier things happen in Louisiana in my 51 years. Would Saban even consider leaving Alabama? My guess is that he would if the money is right and the LSU AD promises him complete control over the LSU football program.

First off. Its never gonna happen so this is pointless.

Second, the only reason people in LA hate saban is because he is the best coach at a rival school. Of he hinted at coming back, ever fan we have would be thrilled. It would be the opposite of a revolt. Lol

Comletely on board with this. The sad thing is, if we're comparing him to all other highly paid coaches, he probably is worth $10m. I say make to $12m lol

No. What if he did come at $10million a year? What if we didn't instantly win everything in sight? We bitched about $4.3million going to a coach who averaged 10 wins a season. Also about high ticket prices. Connect the dots...

Terri loves Baton Rouge. $12 million offer would make the gumps go to $15 per year to keep him....

If Nick Called, LSU would probably open the doors "whatever you want"

I think he is 63? or 65? so not sure how long he would coach, but if for just 5 more years, it would be glorious!

I think it will be Jimbo

They should yes, but can LSU afford to pay Nick nearly 10 million a year?

There is no way in hell Sexton has not already been in the Alabama AD's office dangling that LSU is after Saban
Without a doubt!
