Hmmm, I doubt the coaches read the rant.

Superd, my wife's hairdressers brother knows Saban real well here in Alabama. He actually told us yesterday that Saban told a close group of friends that he got a lot of good coaching tips from reading all of the tips on The Rant. Saban even told them that if it wasn't for the ideas that he got from The Rant then Bama would never have beaten Florida or Texas and Alabama would not be the current national champ.

Nah, just look at it in spurts like i do. it's nice to get outside opinions, no matter how off base some of them are. some people make some sense on here.

but a coach should never listen to too many outside voices. ever. can't play to the backers, gotta do what got you to where you are.

no, they don't look at advice. just that sometimes it's good to get criticism, whether it's justified or not.

which most of the time, by the way, it's off base

I have a tip for Les, don't take coaching tips from message boards.

I think the coaches should avoid the rant at all cost. However, I think it could be a useful tool for some of the administrators to use in order to get a knowledge of fan support and what not. Should they base their decisions on that? NO, frick No, however it is another indicator of fan base morale. So it can be somewhat useful.

Naaa. It's the grassroots. I feel like Ron Zook was fired in much the same way. I have watched this website go from Les Miles is God and better than Saban, to Les Miles had a rough year bc of RP but he did the right thing in kicking him off, to Les Miles is average but he brings in good assistants and enough talent to win and firing him now would not justify the buyout, to (finally) Les Miles has to go regardless of the buy out. I am not talking about the everyday shite you read on here, but the overall attitude of the rant. Look it up.

If I knew Les Miles was coming to this place for advice, I WOULD be calling for his firing.

Here in Alabama, it's common knowledge that Saban is dumbfounded on how the administration at LSU allows the Rant to be public. Saban said that he's gotten many tips on what to do and what not to do from the Rant. He prays that Urban doesn't find out about the Rant, because if he does, all of Florida's opponents will be doomed because Urban will definitely use the tips that he learns from the Rant to his full advantage. It truly amazes me what people actually believe. When an LSU coach completely discounts the Rant, then we will have just a subpar season.

As far as gameplan is concerned - they have NO reason to pay attention to the rant... Believe it or not, Miles, and his coaching staff have already considered everything that has ever been said on the Rant... If they did not implement something that was said on the rant it's because they DISAGREE with what one of us may think... it's that simple...

The only "value" our coaching staff could gain from coming on here is to get a pulse for how fans feel who are willing to post their opinions online.
