JJ is a pocket passer.

That was before Crowton transformed him into a mini-Cam.

JJ had 6 or 7 reg season rushing TDs.
He robbed Ridley on a few of those... dude could have had 20 on the season

How so? By keeping on reads?
If the QB scores on a read keeper, most would say he made the right read.

Ridley deserved the score... LSU rode his back... 20 touchdowns should have been his along with his name in the record books

Gotcha.
JJ just reads the emol for the play and hands or keeps.
I'd say GC robbed Ridley with the play call then.

Oh, he was a contender all right. I wish he'd stayed and broke some records.
SR was one bad arse bowling ball.

Actually I could not stand Ridley going into the season. I thought in 09 he ran soft and did not just bowl people over.

I agree, but "everyone" is basing this on the assumption Jefferson is not the quarterback

favoritism? you mean kind of like continually playing a QB who averaged about 75 yards with 0 TDS in 7 straight games

they were his four most recent games

he lit Arkansas up, I remember thinking we had Andrew Luck back there a couple times

I thought SR did ok with the limited action he saw and rotten O-line play.
You must've come across this recently

Never saw that till just now... Just know watching him in 09 it seemed he would try for the edge too often. Instead of just lowering his head and running people over. That and the fact he could get stopped behind the line or at the line entirely too often in 09.
You could see over the summer he worked on his lower body to get stronger so that it happened less and he could push a pile.

This year he worked out reading the cuts....much easier to do once he had a hole to run through. Scott was leading rusher in '09 with <550yds.

Peace out. Work to do.

OL was not good in 09, not gonna argue they were, but Ridley is bigger than Scott. He was going down quickly in 09 and getting stopped for no gain or 1 yard gain.

which only gives strength to the idea that JJ won't be the starter if there is a better option available...

And in how many of those games was he the sole signal-caller? In case you don't remember we WERE using a 2-QB system which curbed his numbers early, but did allow him to have strong outings against Bama, Ole Piss, Arky, and aTm

He had good games against UNC, Arky, aTm, and Ole Miss... and he was at least serviceable in a game against MSU in which we were working on a short field all night.

We ran the ball the entire second half against Vandy, completely abandoning the pass.

He shite the bed against WVU.
