Think JJ is gonna be the new coach, sounds done to me. From what I have heard it sounds the new coach is in place. Assistants are almost in place. Plenty of Louisiana ties. Will be surprised if it goes another way.

Maybe 5-in-a-row 20 win seasons? TJ was an out of state, out of region hire that came with zero recruiting ties. I think that will play a factor this time around.

Jones would be interesting. Maybe they are trying to correct their mistake from 4 years ago.

I can't wait for more to come out.

The fact that it didn't too much last time is pretty pitiful.

My biggest complaint with TJ was his choice of assistant coaches. He was too loyal to his Standford guys. He never got coaches with regional ties, thus no recruiting relationships were formed.

For better or worse, Johnny is the logical choice for the job

Logical doesn't necessarily mean best.

I think Tim Floyd can give you all of the advantages that Jones can, except he's proven it at a major program. Sure, he's older. But that doesn't matter as much to me.

Anyone mention Avery Johnson once he gets canned by nets?

A thing I like about Jones is the potential for a few of his assistants to come. A lot of guys with ties all over the country in some basketball hotbeds.

The next hire will have ties to Lousiana or to the program. We went outside of both last go-round, and it didn't work out.

What do ties to Louisiana do for you? So we hire a mediocre coach with a mediocre 11 years at a mid major and we're happy because he has LA ties? shite, our standards are low.

Did he ever graduate? I thought you had to be a collage Grad to be a head coach anyway?

My standards are realistic. Why would a big time coach come here? It's nice to talk about Shaka Smart, Brad Stevens, or Jaime Dixon, but it's unrealistic.
