they were both meant to be great college RBs
Shep is 6' 1" and 195 pounds please name the last great RB that weighted that much at that hight. That is probably a generous weight too.

Shep had the velocity of a girl. There's a reason he couldn't be a QB at the SEC level.

Denard Robinson has 0% chance making the NFL as a QB and practically 0% chance of making the NFL at any position. Shep similarly would've had 0% chance of making the NFL, but because he's been trained at WR he'll have a much greater chance at the NFL (however small it may be). IMO Shep's route was the correct route.
Denard is a much better football player than RS. It's not even debatable. Denard is actually fast and has great elusiveness, he can do things with the ball.

If LM had given Shep a shot at QB and was committed to him, LSU would have won the last 4 BCSNCG.
Either you're trying to get people's chili running hot or you sir are the biggest dumb arse of all time!

Denard Robinson is the worst QB I have ever seen live. Went to the sugar bowl last year vs Virginia Tech, and I had a hard time watching him. He is horrible

I love shep and think he is a great person. He might do well in a different scheme in the NFL., I just think y'all want him to be better than he really was and another thing to blame miles for.

So after I quit laughing I have to ask you how many practices were you there for to know that Shep wasn't given a shot and that he would have been better than the other QBs we had? From your statement you are better at evaluating talent than CLM. I'm not denying you are just curious as to how much practice and film time you observed first hand to know.

Shep plays like his shoelaces are untied.

Maybe we should have played Shep 8 games ... and if he went 8-0 ... benched him.

RS can't carry DR jock on the football field.
I mean for frick's sake. I get it. Everyone thought this kid was the shite coming out of HS. But for God's sake. DR was 10 times the natural runner RS has EVER shown himself to be.
And, RS can't catch his arse with both hands.
I mean hell, I think everyone knows I don't hold a high opinion of Miles but frick, did they watch this kid? NO VISION WHATSOEVER. Fast? Yeah. But goes down ON CONTACT.
Cmon people. He was a bust. I'm sure he's a great kid and I've NOTHING negative to say about him as an individual. But, as an athlete, he was MAYBE our 5th best receiver at any point and MAYBE our 5th best RB.
And for frick's sake. He's "dual threat". Miles LOVES dual threat. If the kid had ANYTHING, you can pretty much bet your arse Miles would've tried him at QB.

Did you see how JJ got his arse kicked by Bama? He wasnt a Pro QB either. Still got his shot in college.
Rittdog, the point is that the coaches saw these guys every day in practice...EVERY DAY! You think there's some mystery that could have been revealed by playing RS. Could he have made a difference? Could he have solved our problems?
Had they put RS in, and had he thrown 10 ints and no TDs, you would have said, bench him, and you'd never have mentioned him again. But, don't you see? That IS what happened. Only, it happened in practice when you couldn't see it! The coaches saw it, and made the decision to play whomever they thought gave us the best chance.

100% agree.
Still wish we would've gotten ONE pass on an end around. I will have lifetime blue balls from that

He's probably 185.
But I am sure if he was moved to RB they would've put 30 lbs on the kid.
Still, I think he's too soft for RB.
Shep's biggest issue was that he was a bad passer. His HS highlights are great, but its HS and he makes a good bit of easy passes over the top and deep.
I hope he catches on somewhere though. He was open several times in the Senior Bowl and Wilson preferred to force it to his WR Cobi (understandable).
